SoundBlighter is a quick and dirty hack for exporting sounds from Myth sound files to AIF files. Key words here are 'quick' and 'dirty' Use at your own risk. SoundBlighter doesn't read entire monolithic files (like .gor) so you'll need to extract the individual sound tags from them before opening t...

Topic: Pregame Bitmaps and Color Tables - How to make a bmp match a color table?

Going off memory here... If you open an indexed bitmap and try to edit it, Photoshop should take into account the fact that you are dealing with a limited color table and only let you use colors that are in the table. Therefore, the color table is already in the file. However, if you changed the im...

Hello fellow Mythers, Because of several reasons, I've decided to make GeomView (Malice) open source. What this means is maybe someone can take it and improve upon it. Or if someone wants to just see how it works, they have that option also. Additionally, I've included copious notes about the geome...

Great app Killswitch! An importer would be awesome, as I have found just today that Apathy no longer runs in Classic mode under OS 10.3.4 :( Between you and me and everyone running Jaguar, here's my advice: don't jump into Panther just yet. I've had my fair share of problems from all the little twe...

They say that idle hands are the devil's workshop... GeomView has been updated. Consider this the "Mauglir" build :). It has a couple of his ideas rolled in (key commands for model rotation, colors next to materials list). Also a few tweaks and fixes. Get it while it's hot! GeomView for M...

The PC version gives me an: "Unhandled Exception in GeomView_PC.exe: 0xC0000005: Access Violation" when I try to "Open File" an extracted geom file on Win98. Previous version would open the files. Can you zip the file you're trying to open and email it to me? send to eldersander...

I see flyingflip.com is well underway with a new website design, forms, etc. But what caught my attention was their big announcement of their immenient release of version 1.3 for Myth 3. ("They've been working 6 months on it - yadda, yadda, yadda...") But Project Magma's headlines say tha...

GeomView has been updated to .02. Yes, it's still beta, but it should have at least a little more functionality than the previous version. You can now use it to view Myth models in a 3d window (TFL or SB geoms). Mac: GeomView .02b for Mac Windows: GeomView .02b for Windows You'll need the Quesa Lib...

Quick question Kill....I'm wondering when exporting models why it gives random number statements along with the OK? Is it related to how many faces/vertices the model you just exported has? I exported a few different .geoms and got several different numbers, some in the 200's others in the 20s. Wha...

There is also the very annoying problem of model faces clipping when they don't line up perfectly with the edge of a mesh cell I know what you're talking about. For example, the cathedral walls in 'Covenant' (TFL map played in M2). The bottom edges get all fluttery when you rotate the camera. Very ...

Oh, that Quesa thing: I already started implementing a 3D window in the app. Although you (the user) can't redily access the window, it still makes some calls to the Quesa library.

Iron has the solution - download and install the Quesa library.

hey, Graydon - knock yourself out. :;):

That's kinda funny as Malice has this same export feature and has been out for years. :)

I'll keep you guys posted on any progress.

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a couple of heroic type geeks to test out an app I made for Myth. It doesn't do much, but should be of great help for those trying to break down the GEOM tags for models. Oh, and it exports Myth models to Meshwork (cheap 3D program for Macs). Public beta here: Mac (OS ...
