Contrast is basically making lights lighter and darks darker. In this case, making snow maps painful to look at. Definitely look at your settings again, ideally while a snowy map is loaded so you can observe as you tweak.

There's no 'easy' way to go about what you're suggesting, in the sense of low plugin size, or in procedure. To have a unique unit set on a map those monsters have to physically be placed or indicated on the mesh. So for example, if you made a tagset to replace ww2 recon monsters with ava monsters, t...

Or just pretend you tested the last levels, release it, and wait for bug reports to filter in and patch those bugs later. The bugs in question existed in the original and people want to play that, so I doubt it'd be a problem to release the fixed & mostly tested newer version and call it a day.
