Re: The 9 & TFL - Bringing all our information together

Roland/Beowulf are not references to avatara. Some of the other info is interesting but the roland/beowulf thing is a tip of the hat to the marathon story. Bungie's games like to center around paralell universes and timelines and the concept of an ageless hero being reincarnated. When they say rolan...

Re: Giving credit (among other things) should be a requireme

Because its true, mostly. I remember people saying things like him being the source of drama, but the magma forums (and even mill forums) have always been place filled with drama. Seems like the community cant go a month without people getting at each others throats. It's just interesting, is all. U...

Re: myth looking

New renders of the original Myth units at a higher resolution size is the start of the magic. The real magic gets going though, when the new system allocates mip-maps to the high res sprites, so that they uniformly "scale" up and down in resolution as you zoom in or out. The current issue...

Re: myth looking

krok makes a good point - myth is why I cant play any other "RTS" game out there. theyre all just so dumbed down... myth gives you 100% individual control for everything. How many other games can you blow up a piece of shrapnel so that it flies over your (red) dwarf's head and nails the al...

Re: The Lich King has awakened!

Yeah I was honored to be a part of it, and i'm still available for special FX collection making and attack design. LoE 2 had/has the most beautiful models anywhere in myth, including TSG and Chimera and Jinn (although Jinn has some definite polish)

Re: Video

And even if you believe violence is necessary to attain an end, you can hardly cry foul when violent protest is met with forceful opposition. Again, a small series of disenfranchised youths jumping on top of cars, vandalizing and taunting police is not representative of the movement on a general sc...

Re: Hello everyone

Also the MWC forums ALWAYS blatantly have a downloadable copy of myth 2. Its usually one of the early-on posts in general discussion.

Re: Video

Nobody said anything about "supporting violent protests", PunkUser, not sure where you keep getting that idea.

Its unfortunate oakland has a lot of 'anarchist' types. Lot of squatters, too.

Re: Video

I agree, but that's always how it starts. Once a "riot"/situation breaks out - which is always only a few people doing it - the many spectators are really just as much of an issue. Consider: had there not been so many people standing around there, would the police really have needed much ...

Re: Video

Meh, I have no sympathy whatsoever for rioters. It's always the same... if they dispersed when asked or didn't start crap in the first place there never would have been an issue. All arguments to the effect of "omg the police totally could have used 15.3% less force" in such riot situatio...

Re: MYTH total war at TWC forums

We're talking about different things here JG. You're talking about actually coding 3d model support for units. I'm saying rendering low-poly souly blender style units as 2d sprites is a step backward, not actually putting 3d units in myth. And actually I dont much care for the idea of 3d units in my...

Re: MYTH total war at TWC forums

Thats a cool idea gray but it would be kind of a step backwards if you think about it.. Myth is great at 2d sprites. Making 2d sprites of 3d units that are low polygon because theyre being rendered in a 3d engine is kind of non-sequitur.. I love the units briarius is making i just dont know if i agr...
