Sound editing, converting tags to mp3 - Is there anyway to do this?

I'm curious as to rip a certain soundbyte out of Myth 2 - that soundbyte being the guy who casually says "Casualty" and "Causualties" - and searching around on the internet doesnt seem to yield me any simple program which can pull out an individual sound file and then from there convert it to an mp3.

anyone know how to do this or have a url to point me in the right direction?

There's no simple program, but it is possible if you're on a mac & have either OS9 or earlier or can run Classic.

You need:-

Head Edit

The Fallen Sounds

File Type

and something to convert AIFF files to WAV - Quicktime does this & there's probably other tools as well.

First you get the Myth 2 sound tag you want to convert.

Then you use Head Edit to export it to Myth 1 format.

You use FileType to change its type to CREATOR: Brtk TYPE: SOUN. This is needed else Fallen Sounds doesn't recognise the file.

You open it in Fallen Sounds and export each variation, which will be saved to AIF files. Convert to WAV then MP3 (or mb direct to MP3) using whatever audio tools you prefer.

One interesting method I have found to run a wire straight from your audio output straight into your input.

Too easy...lol...I like Irons method better. Gives me a reason to be banging my head on the monitor, otherwise I only have insanity to point fingers at and I tend to hurt my eyes that way.
