Map resources and internal effects

Post by Nameless »

It would be nice if there were a list of every new unit, model, or non-standard collection that has ever been added to myth, with screenshots and working download links. Someone should make one.

Also, if I want to use someone else's unit in a map, for example, 7th god frost warlocks, do I need to obtain permission? If so from whom?

A few questions on internal effects,
1. Is it in any way possible to edit the color of paralysis
(ex: purple to blue for a freezing effect)
I do realize you could change the little gas puffs but what about the tint?
2. Can you make multiple holding effects or multiple paralysis effects?
(ex: mahir holding spell works like eblis holding spell but looks different?)
3. If I am an idiot and these are possible could someone suggest a way to
simulate them.

Finally, I remember reading quite some time ago that work was being done concerning a pc Amber. Is there a pc sprite editor (not tahoe) in existence?

You mean something kinda like http://mythaddict.atvcowboy.com/?mapmak ... urces=true? Anything from that site is free to use, so long as credit is given to the authors.

Obviously that site doesn't have everything, but it does have some stuff, and has permission from all the authors.

Permission was either given by email, or the author uploaded it themselves.

It is actually that site the motivated my question, I found it especially useful, but I had to hunt alot to find other units to satisfy my creative desires.
For example, I wanted a new type of stygian knight, and after sifting through many plugins I found the Dark Warrior from the Homeland plug. Much time could have been saved if there were one grand list. It is a very good start though.
