sounds

Post by Tireces »

Another problem hehe.
Can some1 tell me plz how do I change sounds.

F.e. :
1) I would like to change warrior taund sound for some other sound.
2) Shiver has voiceless "celebrate" animation. There is also unused celebration sound for her. Any ideas how to connect em?

You can change a lot of sounds in the Monster tag in the 'Sounds' window. Just select which action you want which sound to go with.

Some sounds are actually coded in the collection, though (such as the sound Trow make when they walk). To edit those you need Amber or something like that, and you put the 4-digit sound code in the corresponding sequence - the "Key Sound" plays when the animation reaches the "Key Frame" and so on.

I believe taunting and celebration sounds are in the collections.
The cake is a lie.

you have to open a collection in amber and change the sound ID for the taunt and/or celebration sequences.
do it.

Can Tahoe do it? I'm not sure.

If nothing else, you could get an OS 9 emulator for Windows like SheepShaver and use it to run Amber.

Or you could import the sounds you want in the corresponding sound tags in Fear, overriding the originals. That'd be a pain, though.

Isn't sheepshaver a linux program?
Basilisk II is for windows but it wont run Amber. I've tried.

A hex editor can be used to easily change some tag IDs.

After centuries of suffering at the evil hands of an amberless pc, I've obtained an old G3 Powerbook, as soon as I get it running (its... shall we say weathered) I'd be more than happy to change the sounds for you.

...Ambience is coming soon? Some great timing there, Ive only been moaning about no pc amber forever, and when I finally get a mac THEN someone makes a sprite editor for the pc. Nice, real f'in nice. Just my luck I guess...

Sorry to say this, but ambience sounds (no pun intended) more like a sound editor. Apparantly, this one allows you to open sprites and fiddle around with the sounds involved.
Click on the picture below for my Myth 2 scenario.
