Myth II game-loading problems (MacOS 10.5 intel)

For Christmas my family threw down for a 1.87Ghz Mac mini (Intel) and now I finally have a computer that doesn't suck crap. It's got OS 10.5.

But all good things must come with a little hand that flips me off. I cannot load myth games... I can go onto Marius and join and talk, but I crash during the load because it never finishes loading.

Below is the Log text. It seems to have something to do with the writing/overwriting of Prefs files, but I can't imagine what the hell is the problem. I made sure the Permissions for all the Myth directories were cascading Read+Write, but still it craps out on me. Any advice?

ALSO: this must have something to do with it: I can't rename anything in my Applications folder. Not a single thing. What on earth has happened? I can't rename files! Permissions problem?

I am not a Mac OS 10.5 or a unix guru, but if you can't modify files in the shared (and I assume)system-owned application folder it sounds like the account you are logging in as doesn't have admin permissions - or whatever it's called in Mac OS X.

Yes - go into System Preferences to the Accounts pane and make sure your account has 'Allow user to administrate computer' checked.

you might be able to get away with using some other permissions-related tweaks if it's not ok for you to have admin access. acl's was the first thing that popped into my head.
