F=ma, angular momentum, conservation of energy, etc, etc
Maybe all those years ago it was the impressive explosion physics that drew my eye. I suppose the models of units break apart in some predetermined ways, but what about the the force if the blast radius of satchel charges, etc
I have always wondered how true to the equations game coders stay when coding or do they take shortcuts?
I love insight into this. Thanks all!
Is the physics of Myth real?
Re: Is the physics of Myth real?
It has concepts of velocity, acceleration (and gravity), surface normals, collision elasticity. That's about it afaik. No angular stuff, no rolling. The collision detection system is very basic, and takes tons of shortcuts. Overall it was very advanced for its time, though. Also keep in mind that more realistic physics take more computing power, which was quite limited in 1998.

What are you talking about? Myth IS real!
