I think the problem is related to not having the CD in the drive. I know 1.5 does not need the CD but when we have tested now with the CD in we do not have any problem.
When we first tested tonight we did not have the CD in and on the second map, it crashed my bud to desktop. We deleted preferences, put the CD's in and started probably 10 times using multiple plugins (TFL levels with and without 5 legends TFL, 5 Legends SB) and have not had a problem since. May not be it but we have had a lot of trouble until now.
The problem occurs when trying multiplayer coop. If you look at the mythlog after a crash, on at least one of the machines, it seems to be looking for info on the CD. I tried loading all the cutscenes onto the harddrive but the problem would still occur.
I don't know if it is related to a plugin or not. We are going to test more extensively tomorrow night.
That said, thanks to the folks that have done all this work. I like alot but my 2 favorite things are the mouse zoom and the TFL level ported over to Myth 2.
Myth 2 1.5 (Win)Crashes after every other game - Very frustrating...
I think it is related to the cutscene message. BTW, it is not always a cutscene message, but a data message sometimes, but always looking on ./Myth2code. I wish I had saved all my messages from yesterday.
We are running on two identical systems, side by side. We install Myth 2 the same, same settings, same 3 plugins (TFL levels, both 5 legends).
Our systems are P4-2.4, 512 ram, ATI 9800 pro, sb live/ab audigy.
We will test some more tomorrow. 1st thing we will try is without the cd's and no plugins. Thanks for the help.

Random 1.5 Crash Fix
---------------------
Turn off 3D Sound.
Best thing is, no matter which system it crashes on, you don't need to delete the 'preferences' folder.
Just have the crashed system(s) go back to the 'Preferences' option and turn off 3D Sounds.
First, I want to say, Myrd, you were right. The cutscene error messages had nothing to do with it. Sorry. We newbies tend to be
spastic when troubleshooting.
The problem is selecting 3D Sound with a SB Live sound card. Not every SB Live sound card has this problem, but some.
We ran MANY, MANY games with our three side-by-side systems and the problem replicated consistently.
The three systems are identical:
Dell 2.4
512 RAM
ATI 9800 Pro
EXCEPT the sound card in 1 is an Audigy 2 and in the other 2 is a SB Live (OEM).
No matter client or server, or any other setting, if PC 2(SB Live) turned on 3D Sound, that system would be kicked to desktop. PC 1
(Audigy) never had a problem and PC 3(SB Live) never had a problem.
The drivers listed for the 2 SB Live cards were different by date and final 4 digits. If I could download and get a new set of
drivers to take to any one of my SB Live OEM cards I would but any time I try and run the downloaded drivers I get the 'Creative
Product Not Found' message or something like it.
Simple answer, turn off "3D Sound".
Trust me. We could barely play a game coop together until we figured out that it was the '3D Sound' setting on one system.
Love,
Jim
