thanks Elf.

fyi, I think ren was talking about the wire-frame images - the wire frames show how the unit was modelled, rather than how it was rendered.

Gah they used to be on the Hotline server, along with the video of the Bungie guys at the voice recording sessions ..... I remember shitting my pants at the warrior picture especially.

I remember thinking that, and 'Gee someone ought to learn a 10 year old modelling program and get these things reanimated'.
Okay I got the models but now I'm too dumb to do anything with 'em

Yeah I thought that, but saw no harm in offering what I had.

Myth Clips is the best place for anyone to start looking at Myth units anyway, great little archive.

Not done yet, but you get the gist.

I think if you really tried to re create the models from the hi res print ad close ups, they would turn out super awesome!

For example the warrior's hi res close up clearly shows hes wearing large scale armor, but in game it just looks like chainmail

So if you made a unit that really looked like the close ups, it would stay true to the overall look and feel of the bungie units AND also look like an all new unit!

I Have been trying to get ahold of the power animator TFL models for years now. im sure they still exsist, just need to get those with em to have interest in rerendering them. Only problem is t2 might be the only ones that still have em. maybe bungie as well but i dout it.

I'd be suprised to find that NO ONE who worked on the models saved them. But of course even if someone did they are probably saved on an unlabelled zipClick cartridge at the bottom of a box in someone's attic, and you don't even know whose attic it's in.

I believe CIK has them, or at least had them at some stage in the past. Melekor maybe as well.

David (that's Da Cid or The Great Pretender to you guys) had a pipe dream that we'd learn modelling and get onto reanimating the things... I remember just saying to him "look, you learn 3D because I'm too stupid for it, and I'll do the scripting".

We did e-mail CIK about it a few times, the vague impression that I got was that he had TFL models (or maybe M2? I don't recall - some of them are the same anyhow) and that if we were serious about doing it he'd consider sending us the files.

This was in 2005, I think, maybe 2006. I hope he still has them, I would dearly love to see someone who knows 3D shit to have a go at doing things with them.
Even rendering new hi-res stills for pregame screens or something... I mean, am I the only one here who would love to see 20 warriors doing a conga-line?

Come on?? Let's get this shit moving guys!

Personally I think someone needs to make a cutscene test with the old models. I'm a filmmaker, dang it, I can do the editing! Just someone do this 3D crap for me!
