As far as I know CIK has the M3 model archive (so do some other people including myself, but I made a deal with CIK so I cant give them to you), dont know about the models of the other games...
I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with, and I think once you show some skills, the mystery person with those models will hand em over, I am a little worried about the games limits and what your new high res unit set would do to people playing on old crappy computers, with old crappy video cards...
I have ported uhmm... 4 M3 units (Connact, Spearman, Female Peasant, Trow) and this point and I'm planning to do another 2 (Packmage and Ghol Priest) for a map im working on, they're the highest res units I've ever seen, by far... but my plugin is all about looking good and not about playing well... so its fine...
good luck with you project,

From what i understand we ALL have the myth 3 3d models, because they are contained on the myth 3 CD.
You might need some kind of extractor to get at them..i dunno i disliked myth 3 so i never looked into it much.
Iron or somebody else that knows CIK well, maybe contact him and ask im if hes still got the tfl or myth 2 models?

well in *theory* yes, that's true, but one could also say that because I have Halo for the xBox I have the 3D models of the MasterChief and all the aliens. But can I really DO anything with those models? Can I edit them? Import them to Myth? Do anything practical with them? Can I even LOOK at them? No, No, No, No and No.
So, speaking strictly technically about the Myth III unit 3D models, I/you/we DO 'have them' - because they are embedded somewhere in the game - but without knowing precisely *where* they are, and precisely *what format* they are in, 'having them' isn't really a measure of anything useful. e.g. It doesn't really mean anything for me to say I "have them", if I can't use them or even view them.

...what a pointless discussion once again ren,... here I am trying to provide information to make things clearer for people...
the models CIK (+ some others) have are NOT the models provided on the mythIII CD ripped and converted somehow, they are the actual work files of the guys who made mythIII, including some old versions of models and animations, higher res textures and other things...
Ill ask CIK if I ever see him online about those m2 models...
anyway, good luck with your heron, im interested to see what you come up with, which app do you use to model them in?
((and some totally unrelated info about Halo models... there is a converter from Halo2 (for xbox) to .3ds, which I used a longgg time ago...))

I remember when they extracted Halo 2 stuff; that was a blast.
It got Cid all excited. "Will, we have to make a Blood Gulch map!" he cried out.

Ok Giz thats great WTF are you talking about ....i wasnt talking about what models whoever had were from the myth 3 CD, im just saying the models ARE there, and just like halo, might need some kind of extractor.
Why would i say that? gee mb because i used to work with the m3 guys all teh time and asked them if the models where on the CD.
If you need somebody to help pull the stick out of your ass PM me.

Giz just meant that saying we all have the M3 models is pointless. He (and everyone else) knows (or should know) that the m3 models are in the CD, but when he says someone has them he clearly means the original files for the m3 models in a format that won't require some extracting or converting program.

Im a little tired of your nonsense remarks ren, it seems like you try to have a say in everything on this forum without really knowing what youre talking about... I was only trying to give people some info about who has which files, you know, sharing some knowledge, instead of being a smartass...
everybody can be a smartass, now that I think of it, we also all have the M2/TFL models, if we'd come up with a smart image analyzer that could calculate what the 3D model would look like based on the sprites and output that in a usable file format... its simply not what people were asking for now is it?!
oh and good for you you know the myth3 devs, good boy...
guess Ill go do something more productive now...

Giz your a moron and a nasty little one at that! The hate ren bandwagon left long ago, yet your chasing after it.
I happen to work with just about evreybody on this game for years now...so i do know a thing or 2 = your a dipshit Giz,
I know far more then you ever will about this damned game.
Just like people said for halo, the models can be obtained with an extractor. To try to say this is "nonesense" only shows that your a total douchebag. And what the fuck is it you do mister high and mighty, that makes you think you know so much more then i do?
Thanks for bringing hate into this guy's high res unit thread.

Hahahahhahaha..

Oh boy, I love this forum.
Can we stop talking about the Myth 3 models? They were lame and this thread was more fun when it was about vintage shots of the TFL models.

I really dont know what to say about all this... but I'm going to try to respond nicely, so its a closed matter (from my part atleast) and we can get back to Fortified Hooligan and high res unit creation in general.
Ren, I dont hate you, I do however think you take things way too personally, I typed "what a pointless discussion once again ren", which was an observation, a whole lot is theoretically possible but it simply does not help people or the discussion (Pyro and vinylrake said the same thing, in a lot more words).
I do however see a trend of you bragging about how good you are, how much you know, and who you know/worked with... putting yourself above others (forgetting about the people who told you) and insulting a lot of people in the process without really having anything to backup your claims. Maybe if you had beers with Mandela every saturday night I'd be impressed...
