Why were the Journal pictures cut from TFL?

Why were they never included in Myth:TFL? They were on the disc, and excluding a very small few of them, really helped to bring the story to life. So why were they cut? What would make Bungie go to the effort of contracting them, but then go and never use them?
Did they want to put the focus soley on the words of the Narrator instead of the pictures? Did they want to make sure the the battle formations of the enemy (And terrain), were noticed by the player? I mean that only was really helpful in the Covenant missions.... I guess it would be instructory in the Rhi'Annon missions as well....
Did they not feel the art style matched enough with the win/loss screen?
It just seems odd that they're not included... It really helped flesh out story details on certain missions, such as when Traun of the Hundred Battles/ Turgeis with Burning Steel came over the mountains and delivered the Eblis Stone. In the journal it's given a passing mention, but in the drawings we actually see the person and know it's important.
Did Bungie ever give a reason, or can we only speculate?

Those pictures were never used? Maybe I'm thinking of different graphics... but if I'm not, you're on crack.

That would mean downloading it again so I can play with whoever has an updated copy. My version works just fine thanks and I feel to make a 56ker download it AGAIN just to play with friends for that's silly.
Why? WE'VE GOT ACCESS ALREADY.

First of all u could just dl small patch. The Fallens Levels v2 still have few bugs that could be fixed in future. If it will happen adding few pictures shouldnt be a big deal .
BTW something Year ago I seen ppl playing The Fallen Levels v3. Any1 knows whats new there ? I wasnt official magma update, was it ?
I think almost all ppl use v2 and btw while autohosting CoOp Tournament maps i realized how many players do not have The Fallens Levels. Once 6 of 7 player were auto-booted in same moment when autohost changed map from The Wall to Bagrada.
150 Megs and slow connection proly - and some ppl are just lazzy

Well I doubt Magma will ever make a v3 of it... but on the off chance they do... they should add the end game thingy that is showed after winning the last level of TFL. Fear now has an option to add that since at the time of making the plug it wasn't available. This way if they make an update they might as well do all the fixes and changes to make it as close Myth TFL as possible.

I can't recall those pictures at the end being used either, but I haven't played real TFL coop in years.
So I'll just go with that site.

While I think it's fair to say that some of the un-used images look absolutely ridiculous, (See Bagrada. It definetly kills the mood.), However I think it's definetly a worthy investment to patch up vTFL to ver.3
The scenes from Crow's Bridge, Shadow of the Mountain & Seven Gates, Sons of Myrgard & A Long Awaited Party, The Watcher, and the last four levels, River of Blood, Pools of Iron, The Last Battle, and The Great Devoid, are particularly powerful.
Of course then one has to wonder, would all the excluded images we used, or only the "good" ones. I think it's inarguable that some of the images drastically change the mood of the Journal narrations from something of dread, grim reality, or mystery, into something humerous, and what not. (again see Bagrada, or Across the Gjol.)
So how would they be decided upon? One also must ask how the timing would work for their use. At what point would they fade in and out in synch with the Journal?

Someone PLEASE tell me why viewing the pics on somewhere like Myth.Bungie.org nicely annotated or saved on your PC isn't good enough and it needs to be in a plugin? I know for Magma it wouldn't be terribly hard to do - but its a little work that no one needs to do. Please, be realistic and get your priorities straight in the world if you even think about these things.

I agree. It is too minor to justify making players updating a 255MB plugin. Not that I would mind. But oh well.

I dissagree. If some1 in the future decide to make new version of The Fallen Levels v3 and fix bugs that remain in v2 he could throw pictures there also.
255 MB ? I think that a patch for v2 could be released - just like small patches for Demise of Mazzarin series. Right ?

Elfoid meant why make a v3 JUST for a few images. Not if there were real bugs to fix.

Hehe, wouldn't adding them to the fallen levels make them
less like TFL?
Just add them yourself...or just look at them at the website

I believe my original post was asking why they weren't in Myth:TFL to begin with...
I'm not saying it's a priority, or even really needed. I'm just musing on what other Dev groups working on old games do to add in left out content, and if it would be worth it. (considering it doesn't really add or detract much).
Here's a slightly different direction to think in.
When Dev groups are updating games, or creating patches for otherwise abandoned games, should they merely update it to play as it was, or should they work on enhancing the experience?
I'm not applying this to Myth specifically, just interested in your thoughts.
Anyone know of any other updated game projects where debates like this have occured? I know that System Shock 2 recieved a MAJOR graphics overhaul, and KOTOR 2 has a huge fan project going to recreate the unfinished/ cut levels, as well as add in the unused (and quite humerous) dialogue) to the PC version of the game.
Star Control 2 recieved a major Interface/ Graphics mesh from the PC/ 3DO versions, the inclusion of the 3DO voice acting, and an ENORMOUS sound overhaul that effectively remixed (and remade) every single song (and possibly effect) in the game. Remember Frenzy of the Damned over in the downloads section? The song that plays in the journal scene is called Starbase and is from the SC2 source project.
