The morale feature was added back in 1.5.1. If used, it allows a unit the way to affect units nearby. When a unit vets, it can attack faster (or slower) and take smaller (or larger) pauses between attacks. Morale boosting can increase (or decrease) a unit's vetting.

Say that you have a unit that can vet up to 30 kills but only has 5 at the moment. A unit that affects morale comes near it that is set to boost 15 points for allies. Well now that unit that had 5 kills will act like it has 20 (+15 more than what it already has).

Morale boosting can also work on enemies if set to do so. For example, you could make them fearful when your morale boosting unit is near. So if the enemy has 30 kills and your unit has a value of -20, now that unit will act like it has 10 kills.

The morale boosting unit doesn't have to do anything to affect morale other than be nearby. Imagine a circle around it where the unit is in the center. You can set the radius of this circle as well as how much it affects allies and enemies.

If can only increase (or decrease) within the limits of the units being affected. So if a unit can only vet up to 30 and is already at that number, a morale boost will not affect it. Unless the boost is using a negative value then it will make the unit act like it has less kills.

Well, Pyro's right, but I think that when unit reaches 5 kills level, it's attack speed, damage etc. are not increasing anymore. So there's no difference between unit that has got 5 kills and the one that has got 30 kills. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok, I'll correct you. :P While it is true most of the default units can vet up to only 5 kills you forget that it is possible to make a plugin with units that can vet higher than that. There is no default unit that can boost morale, so why does it matter that there is no default unit that can vet higher than 5 kills? If a mapmaker is going to use the morale boost feature, they are likely going to have units that vet higher than 5 kills.

This image should help, look towards the bottom at the Marsh section. However this will change for 1.7.1, it will have its own section and you won't have to use terrain cost values after that.

mmm how would it be set up in 1.7 ?
is the morale boosted by more than 1 units that have moral boost?
let's say 15 units that have moral boost are al together, they would increase x 15 the morale compared to just 1 around?
to make like formations more deadly?

While I haven't tested it, I don't think it works that way. Perhaps it only uses the highest number from all those. Why do you ask for 1.7? Morale hasn't changed since its addition to Myth back in 1.5.1.

forgive the ignorance...hehe I read that you said that it would change after 1.7.1 so I was wondering how it changed... or 1.7.1 is a version not yet released?

1.7 is the current build. 1.7.1 is a build currently in development, and when it's released both Fear and Loathing will be released with updates to them as well. One of the updates Pyro is speaking of is a special field in Fear that you can just plug in a numerical value in a field specific to morale (or vetting for that matter), rather than the current method of having to find the correct terrain cost and the appropriate value in said terrain cost. I think.

Yes what gray said. Currently for 1.7 and earlier, when you wish to set the max experience (vetting) limit you need to do it in the Marsh terrain cost value. In the up coming 1.7.1 update you don't have to use any terrain cost values for nothing no matter if you are a Mac or PC user.
