myth source code

I read the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myth_%28co ... _series%29) saying that `Development of the Myth Series was halted by Bungie, but fan groups have been given access to the source code ...'

Does this mean the source code is available (like open source) or is opened public? If so, where can I find it?

I search the fourm and noticing some threads referring to this e.g.

Zeph wrote:I just modified the myth4 source code and added higher zoom feature!

But do not find the place where the source is accessiable.

Thanks for help.

The source code is not public, and Zeph's post was a joke (there is no Myth 4).

The gobal resession has hit our dev team hard over the last 1 1/2 years.
We dont have as many people on the dev team active as we used to.
Its like all the free time people had went poof. since we all have no money seems like most extra time that was spent on myth is now spent on trying to make ends meet.

That being said we still have a few people are are spending a lot of time on our Myth IV project.
Just need some scripting help mostly....

Hey VR, wanna help us with a multiplayer mapack release we are working on?
We have most the maps, they just need to be set up in loathing.

I myself am super busy with other myth duties and wont be able to get to the maps untill next month.

And a select few have the source code.
Its not much good though, since its like v1.1 of the code.
the version that would be important is whatever current version magma has.

there have been so many bug fixes since 1.1 that there wouldnt be any point really to having this old ass code. unless you just want to see how it was put together.
there is however the bungie.net source code avalible to the public.
i have seen that a few places, maybe look for that

Now, for the sake of not confusing the original poster...

Project Magma has the myth code and releases updates (Myrd is part of Project Magma).

The Myth 4 team is a team making a mod for Myth 2. They are entirely separate (Renwood is in charge of that team).

"just need to be set up in loathing" could encompass a lot of things, but shoot me a pm and let me know what you are looking for. IF you can provide specific details of what you want I'd be happy to help - e.g. if you have a colormap done and you can tell me you want 4 teams starting on the spots identified on an attached gif file of the overhead map, with a clear list of what each team's unit mix consists of with gametypes and # and location of netgame objects desired I could find time to do that. I don't want to commit if there aren't clear specs because I just don't have time or energy to deal with fuzzy specs like "we want 4 or maybe 8 teams, each with some heavy artillery and some fast units all the units should be light except maybe dark units for the melee or maybe grey not sure yet and we want 4 different versions of the map for different numbers of teams and each of those should have a light, dark and grey version, and some of them will need completely different units for each difficulty level but we don't know what they are yet...."

an example of good specs would include:

maptype: #of teams/starts
Team starting locations: attach a screencap or give very clear description of starting loc
Team units : Tradeable?/min/max : difficulty/min/max, etc for each unit type

gametypes: list the gametypes
#ofNetgame objects (flags, balls, type of unit and # of stampede and assassin targets)
(starting) location of netgame objects - attach a screencap or give VERY clear description of starting location

bump.

ps. Ren, please send map particulars soon so there can be some WindAge product released before the end of the year. Once I start working on the 1-24th scale-3D-dioramas of people's favorite myth maps I am making for xmas presents I'll be pretty busy up through the holidays.

pps. Some people are hard to pick maps for. I sure hope my mom likes Stair of Grief.
