Myth 2 help getting better

Hi guys, I'm a noob here, first time post...
I've been playing Myth since its initial release (TFL)... I've played through both TFL and Soulblighter campaigns on Legendary, but I'm looking to increase my skill. I played multiplayer maybe 6 years ago for a little while, but that's it. Recently I started playing campaign again, and I've been watching vids of other players, trying to learn from them. I realize you can only learn so much playing campaign and I want to get into multiplayer... but most of the guys online are too good and/or don't want to join a game with me because they don't know me. Whenever I get in a game, I feel like an idiot because I don't know all of the strategies that are apparently common sense to everyone else.
All this to say, I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips to either campaign/multiplayer, gametypes, unit control, strategy, or anything else that might prove useful in playing myth. If there are any walkthroughs or basic skills videos that have been compiled maybe you could point me to some (or maybe think about making one!).
Thanks for any help.
