The Killing Floor

The Killing Floor was created from a desire to play the Proving Grounds/Killing Grounds unit sets, but with balanced starts and improved flag placements.

There is not a great deal of elevation, just some subtle relief around the outer map and a slightly elevated mid. I wanted to preserve the wide-open battle experience of PG/KG, with some subtle variation in terrain. For instance, the middle area is slightly elevated to make archers have to work harder to engage the center flag. Molotovs will break/explode easier on the stone... so expect dwarf shots to bounce less. The stone is still flammable, but fire will not spread like it would on grass. Likewise for the cracked mud surrounding mid and between starts. The pool of blood surrounding mid will offer some protection from enemy dwarves.

This map should play well for gametypes beyond just King of the Hill. Enjoy the PG/KG experience on Flag Rally, King of the Map, Territories and more!

Each start has access to 1 puss and 2 mortar duds. There are also 3 additional mortar duds to compete for along the outer edge of the map.

I've also introduced a new style of overhead map for this one. It has been stripped of detail and desaturated to grayscale for much higher contrast of team, ally, and enemy units.
