Re: letter to "Take 2 Interactive"

I still stop by here and every now and then to see how the community's doing. And still keep an eye out for game industry people who may have useful Take 2 contacts. And still curious about the "6 figures", big difference between 100 000 and 900 000.

Open source RTT for iPad

Here's an interesting project: https://github.com/openwar/openwar The blog: http://blog.openwar.org The app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/samurai-wars/id442916628?mt=8 Might be fun to mod this with Myth units...the interface is pretty nice, there's no resource building, and it has one thing other...

Re: This game is not for fun.

I'm having a tournament for fun this weekend, called the Myth Olympics. It uses a lot of 3rd party plugins, like leggo, bushido, bolo, ww2, etc.
That sounds awesome! Can't make it this weekend but I'll keep an eye out for next time if there is one.

Re: This game is not for fun.

The following groups of mythers have private games on specified days, and have been known to allow outsiders in sometimes: (list) Maybe some attempt could be made to have a monthly myth night with these groups? This is helpful for noobs to know. Otherwise it seems like the server is all pros all th...

Re: This game is not for fun.

Again, it's not about the game being too hard to be fun, it's about other players' behavior towards you if you're not as good as they are. It's stupid to get angry at a noob. - everyone has to start somewhere - not everyone has the time to dedicate to hone their skills (or even the inclination to do...

Re: Mariusnet offline

if I made a similar interface for GoS, would it be possible to make your web page/app support it as well?
Long answer PMed to Punk User, short answer is: I was already thinking of looking into this, but can't say yet exactly when I'll be able to.

I haven't been able to get past the 500 error on the web yet, but the iPhone app seems to have found the player feed ok, shows Pyro bravely sitting there alone in the digital wilderness :D

Re: Registering for Gate of Storms server

Heh. I can't remember the exact number off the top of my head either, and can't fire up Myth to check while I'm on vacation...one question, is it written out as a word or is just a number ok?

Re: What's it take to set up an autohost?

Possibly dumb question: Could I set up a Raspberry Pi as an always-on autohost? (Probably too slow?) Other dumb question: To play Myth on Linux, is there a physical disk you need to buy from Amazon? (presumably?)

Re: How MYTH has changed and stayed the same.

My story is rather similar to yours. Because of the impatience and pointless aggro I ended up just seeking out specific more chill people to play with. Unfortunately most of them are not in my time zone, so I haven't played much. I also set up an iOS Myth app where people could self-identify as &quo...

Re: Bored today so I made something...

I'd been meaning to do a web app for ages but you beat me to it :) If you have any use for graphics resources (map thumbnails, for example) from the iOS app I made, they're on GitHub under my username. Hooray for boredom-induced projects!

Re: Price?

Why would Take 2 care about whether or not you have a business idea? I believe you, but would love to understand why. If you're buying the IP, code, everything, what do they care what you do afterwards? In this theoretical scenario, I'm imagining a pool of cash collected from everyone who cares abou...

Price?

Sooo... How much would it cost to buy the Myth license today? Ballparks? Wild speculations? So far I've heard $ 250,000 and a million. Shall we put it to a vote? ;)

(P.S. 250,000 is a raiseable amount.)
