Not an Intel Mac, though - they don't support Classic. Only PPC Macs with 10.4 or lower.

Do you have an intel mac or a ppc mac? if you have a ppc mac and a version of OS X that supports old macs then Classic should be builtin to the OS. If you double-click on a classic Mac app (pre OS X) like 'Amber' and it doesn't automatically open up a 'classic' window then you are out of luck. You can't just run 'Classic' as a seperate Mac application, my understanding of it is that is very tightly hooked into the operating system and the CPU chip itself.

If you have an OS 9 installation disk, you can use it to install Classic if it didn't come preinstalled on your computer. A quick way to check if you have it installed already is to check the root level of your hard drive. If there's a folder there called "System Folder" (not just "System", that's for OS X), you're good to go.

Classic has to be chosen as an option when you install the OS if it wasn't already found (i.e. you didn't have OS 9 on already).

Run your installation disk(s) again and look for a "Customise" button, click this to find classic and deselect everything else (so you ONLY install Classic, no sense in installing any part of OS X again).

You may also be able to find it by digging around on the install disk but it's easier just to follow the installer.

i dont have no install disc the comp came so that when i pluged it in and turned it on it auto installed everything it needed

All Macs with OS X should have an install or "restore" disk, the ones I got have a solid grey or bright orange surface to the disk so they usually stand out from other CDs.

running amber via sheep shaver and os9 seems to work fine..
