Ok, i'm having this problem again, crashing when I scroll map over any model.
I seem to have reached some kind of model/unit definition limit, as I cannot add any more of either. I have 123/512 model types, and 34/96 Monster types, and 7/8 model animation types. Its a large map too, 2560x2560.
If I add one more monster type, then it only crashes when I run over specific models, and if I add another monster, it just crashes as I place.
If I add more model types, they just do not show an outline and when placed do not appear, and if I put more model types anyway then it crashes.
I could use any ideas, i'm tired of messing with it. I can easily do this map within these limits, i'm just curious whats going on and if im just doing something wrong.
There are a few models from myth1 and a few other plugs, but other then that its all reg myth stuff. I can still add lots more scenery types, so that doesn't seem to be involved.
Edit: I dont know whats going on. it doesnt seem to be a straightforward problem and I cant isolate anything... I'll try to get some other people to try it on other computers see what happens
Map limits with scenery
check your textures...
i have had this happen.... seems a few causes
corrupted collections in amber will cause it... check your color plate.
same kind of crash has happened in game long ago when a render frame was over 256 pixels..
if model textures are not set right same thing crashola
if your custom trees have more than one view... and you have hundreads of them your asking for a bit of lag on some players computers... not sure about 1.7 though scenery with 12 angles or 8 6 or even 4 for that matter when theres a lot of them placed will lag.. best to just have one angle for the majority of the scenery (one frame) with a few accent higher res and views.
do we know yet whether your renders over 256 pixels will play online yet or not? multiplayer...?

if one does not learn from the failings of the past they are likely to suffer its return.
