Odd Thing with Projs and Hue Changes

Post by Pyro »

I added some projectiles to a map, they use the same collections as some units. I was always under the impression that if projectiles use hue changes, that they would not be able to use them unless they were created by a unit. Well, I have two projectiles that somehow are using a collection reference without being created/dropped by a unit. I like it this way, so I'm trying to find the cause to replicate it with other projectiles.

Anybody ever heard or seen this? Or know how to replicate it?

hue changes

Post by Point »

not sure on that ... the only way i got a projectile to use a hue change before i think was to make it a scenery item also...

I tried to get the top bar inventory to use hue changes like the mug shot with no luck and have had issues with flooning of the team colors and hue changes a good deal in cwr ... ie the other team using the wrong uniform....

post what you find out...

thanks for all the testing your doing Pyro...

This one is on my particular "to do" list and has been around since 1.3 (it's mentioned in the Dorfball documentation).

We've noticed when playing that a captain of a team with whacked colors can almost always make them right if he/she can detach units to someone and then take them back - they "reset". I have seen one exception to this, but believe it is the biggest clue to finding out what the problem is.

Did you happen to save a film of this, with the captain detaching "fixing" it?

With the film, it might be easier to figure out what's happening.

I will find the film and zip it up with whatever plugins were involved.

One man's 'floyned unit' is another man's 'secret enemy team infiltrator unit'.

in cwr detaching it to another player will fix it say if it doesnt take any hue change at all which was a problem on random occasions which would solve the neon civil war guy look though when detaching it back it was never fixed.. it would go back to the same problem... no hue change selected... I have seen significantly less flooining after deleting more hue changes that referenced the same collection... though havent got any closer to eliminating the problem.

as for other teams getting a different hue than they should it seems random as well with monsters that use the same collection yet different hue change... (which is needed for restricted pick ups for both sides or simply to keep the plug size down)
