I've played on and off for the past few years now and woulod like to get back into myth. I have myth I and II. I install myth II get the 1.5 update, the mariusnet patch, and fire it up. No one is on. Is myth dead or do you all just play at certain times? Please tell me some of you still play. Respond here or feel free to instant message me name: fantastopottomus

Hiya ALK. I remember ya, back when mnet was more than the ghostland it is now. There's a ton of people playing on Myth II on pmnet. You can find a few games of Myth III there, but you're pretty much out of luck, if you want to play TFL. Your best bet for that would be on mnet, and the chances of a game there are very unlikely.

MariusNet is mainly used by orders that don't have a hotline server or by map making groups. PlayMyth.net uses Bungie.net source code so people trusted them more when it was set up.

MariusNet doesn't support Myth III which, tho unpopular, does get some PlayMyth.net games.

PlayMyth.net doesn't have the 'be nice or we boot you' kinda rules. This is good in the sense that you don't get booted for joking around, but bad in the sense that when I sent in reports of racism to accounts@playmyth.net nothing happened :(

MariusNet does support Myth III actually, and the reason it doesn't use the bnet source code is because it was coded before the bnet source was released.

Anybody can use the bnet source code, it wasn't given specifically to pmnet (although they may have been given a more complete version than what was publically released, but we don't know anything about that...).

As for who uses Mnet these days, it's mostly just a few diehard TFLers and occasionally magma members and friends for testing of new plugins and patches and such.

No problem, it's kind of a m00t point anyway since M3 players all play at playmyth anyway.

I don't think bungie.net lists MariusNet as being Myth III compatible.
