OK, I need a solo-meister...

I've torched everything on 'Scourge of Belial', everything... Except Belial himself. He electro-zaps people if you attack him one at a time (and occasionally he seems to heal himself by inflicting damage on you). He flattens everything in a 6 unit radius if you mob him. He moves too fast for arrows to take effect. He can't be unhealed, and I can't trap him anywhere.

Either I have to play a magic flute that I find hanging around a pterodactyl's neck in a part of the forest that can only be accessed through a hidden cave after naming three zerks "Bëorn " (with a space after the 'n' and an umlaut over the 'e') and healing some obscure fruit while standing on one leg under a blue chicken... Or I just call it a day and say "Hell - if you really like this cave, it's yours, weirdo."

Any tips?

Hi Oro!

Have you tried luring Belial on to a pile of satchels?

You need to get the new bomb code from Steven, he changed it when you were lost. After that, stick the Alien Gemstone in the lead box and set the nuclear device, then get the hell out of Dodge. That should do the trick.

Yeah, tried that - The number of satchel piles close to the keep's kind of a hint... However, it looks like Belial is looking out for satchel piles. He certainly hates dorfs and seems to have a preference in targeting them if they get too close, but maybe I was doing something else that makes him auto-target duffies.

I managed to kill Belial last night in a long series of 1v1 sacrificial duels. Arrows are crap - Belial seems to zap arrows as they hit him, and the resulting electrical discharge seems to 'heal' himself. Not exactly a convincing win, but a fun map, nonetheless.

Hehe, yeah, Belial is a toughie. I was joking about the satchels, btw. Just wanted to share the surprise I got when I tried that tactic myself. The only way to defeat him seems to be exactly how you did it.

I enjoyed that map too. One of Ghost's best, imo.

One can figure out a spot (A) where B stands for a second or two on his path. Position a zerk so B just moves back and forward on a short walk somewhere else. Put two dorf-loads of satchels on spot A. Put a train of satchels away to a safe distance. Move the zerk away so B resumes his full path. When he is about to walk onto spot A, have the dorfs trigger the train of satchels. Dead B. No casualties.

One can also, as mentioned, nickel and dime B to death using archers, solo dorfs, and pairs of zerks and herons.
I had my archers and two herons alive at the end.

Meh you just distract him with zerks then mob him with dwarves, then light a match...
