if i were to desire to switch the peasant cheer sound to something else - say wind, or crickets or bird flaps or wight flies... (anything quiet enough to not hear during PT of pg and kg games.) if i were to want to do that, where is it in fear, and would it make me go oos?

Local tags are not loaded in network games, so it would not have any effect.

I don't believe this can be done in Fear. I think you need a collections editor, like Amber for the Mac or "nothing" for the PC. In addition to editing collection sprites and setting up the sequences, I think Amber can key up the sounds that go with each sequence. So for the peasant cheerleaders you would go into the "celebration" sequence and change the sound.

But, I don't have a Mac and have never seen Amber in action, so I could be completely wrong.

I'm pretty sure that by "have no effect" he means that no matter what you did the peasants would still cheer. The tags do not load in multiplayer meaning it won't go OOS but it also won't have any effect. In the first versions of myth this wasn't the case if I can recall. People would make local changes that caused units to bleed all the time, the games would go oos but the only effect they would have is a bloody trail letting you know where all the enemy units are, the ranked games would still count. I think this was fixed in 1.2 though I could be wrong.

it is possible. and seems to cause no oos issues.

in fear, open sounds->villager celebration and change the volume to as close to 0 as you care to go.

then your wife won't tease you with "whoohoo, alright!" when you play myth without headphones.
