I am an original Myth TFL junkie from 1997... and was totally blown away playing it with open gl rendering in mac os x earlier this year with the 1.5 beta (that has unfortunately expired). After seeing your post (quoted), my hopes are renewed... how's the installer package coming? Any projected release date yet?

C'mon, I could have learned the procedure for making installers and done one on my own by now :P

Perhaps we could get an installer like the previous one until the one with the full update capability is available?

Please update your patch expiration. It's working great and I need my machine to tell the correct time.

Danke!

You're right Muzzy, this is getting tiresome, perhaps we should just scrap the almost completed project and you guys can move back to 1.4. It's pretty clear you guys don't have the patience required for this project to be worth your time.

Most people don't need an installer, so why not just release 1.5 without one for now? It can come with a note saying people who need help installing should wait for the installer equipped version.

Which Month?

I second this option.

Those of us on LANs or with Unix-style logging can't really set back the clock to get around the problem.

I was thrilled when I discovered TFL would become playable under OS X. But the past two months, I've been forced to find solace with the key-commands of another... :lol:

i'm for releasing without an installer too, because it just needs to be released. we can release the installer-ised version when the installer is ready.

SOLUTION FOR ALL YOU FOLKS TFL PLYRS!!!!!!!!!!
:)
I found a workaround for "TFL beta has expired"
you need to change the date in the MYTH_TFL.EXE patched file(1.5beta version),for me the date was 22may 2005.
TO Do this you need an hex editor like

XVI32 http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm
TinyHexer
http://www.mirkes.de/en/freeware/tinyhex.php
HACK_win32
http://rhack.sourceforge.net/
download ,install and open the hex editor;
make a backup copy of the MYTH_TFL.EXE(1.5beta),
open the MYTH_TFL.EXE(the 1.5beta) in the hex_editor, from the menu_bar choose Edit-Find and insert in the search form
the word that you are searching, 2005 in this case.
when you have found it , simply change to a future year like 2020 ,or just 2006;
after the change, save the file.
test the trick launching the game and
ENJOY :D

If they're thinking about releasing the manua-only version soon, I might not bother hex-edit my copy. Still good to know tho : )

Using HexEdit (http://hexedit.sourceforge.net/) I managed to get frengo_Gorgia's binary hack to work under MacOS X.

Thanks for the idea.

Woah now, don't get all pissy. I know you guys are doing good work, but when you tell someone something will be done by a certain time... and that time long passes...

Just common courtesy to at least keep people informed as to what's going on.
