Melekor, I am hoping you can have some sort of M3 compatiblity with Oak, as there are so many possibilities for editing them.
What are you thinking of? I don't know much about M3, but I am under the impression that Vengeance is fairly complete.
P.S. Is there a webpage or something that has any information on it, or whatever?
Well, there's the Oak section on my page. It doesn't have much information though, just screenshots.

Vengeance (then turned Ballistic) is a great problem true! Problem is that you can't extract ANYTHING.

First off - great to hear that Oak might yet see the light of day!
Melekor wrote:To get this running, you basically need to acquire an "old-world" 4MB Mac OS Rom image, and a copy of OS9. I still have my OS9 CD but getting a rom image that actually worked took a while. I tried about 8 of them I found on the net (and they're not easy to find) before finding one that worked.
At the risk of stating the obvious (and something I am sure you know), the reason it's fairly hard to find a ROM image of a PowerPC chip is because it's illegal to use a ROM image unless you own the actual ROM chip the image is from. e.g. It's similar (though probably not exactly the same as) to how it's ok (legal) to play a backup copy of a CD you yourself own, but if it's a copy of someone else's CD it's illegal.
Since you have (or had a Mac) I could assume you are just getting a copy of something you already own but are unable to make yourself due to not having a chip-reader in your possession which might be a legal gray area (don't know if ROM image usage has to be same serial# between chip and image or just same chip) but falls in the reasonable use category at least to me.
For anyone who doesn't own a powerPC ROM chip (or at least a mac containing one) , I just thought it worth mentioning that using a Mac ROM image is illegal.

Yes, that's absolutely correct Vinylrake. Thanks for clarifying.

What would you like to extract? Skelmodels are pretty complicated and I wouldn't really even want to touch that. On the other hand, extracting the jpeg images would be pretty simple.

I guess anything u can. I mean stuff like monster, projectile, unit tags, etc are essentially the same. Here's a screenshot:

Seems to me the things that might be extracted are:
jpegs
skeletal modals/animations
sounds
texture stacks
AFAIK it's already possible to extract all of these except skelmodels using other utilities. And like I said before I don't want to touch skelmodels with a ten foot pole

you can already extract every tag with Untag (on the forum somewhere made by Killswitch) and extract jpg images (from those tags) with Patchwork (also by Killswitch)...
previously you were able to do it with uhmmm jfif stripper I think it was called (made by Khrome)
...and I also found an app called File Juicer
http://echoone.com/filejuicer/ which can extract jpgs and other files from pretty much any file (guess it just searches for filetype headers in a selected file and exports the files)
I would be interested in getting models from the game (even though I already have 2 sources to get those from it would still be nice if there was an app to do it)

Feel free to share that with us who would like them as well.

Then don't say anything. Essentially that's saying you have it but won't share it. "Hi guys, I have the cure for cancer, but cannot and will not give it out at this point in time, sorry!"

Whenever I visit these forums I have to drag the browser window off to the left or I succumb to their hypnotic effect and wake up to realize several hours have passed.
