AMD Dual Core 2200+
Radeon x1300 256MB
1GB DDR2
Windows XP SP2

I also have a Pentium D 2.8 that has the exact same issue.

Its got to have something to do with this particular radeon x1300, that is the only similarity between my two systems. One is AGP and one is PCI-E but they are both X1300's. Im going to try the onbaord graphics.

Yes those are two names for the same thing. Maybe if you install classic build it may run better for you. Just run the 1.6 installer and choose classic. If it doesn't help I guess reinstall it using the windowed/modern build.

Ok, I have some more info. I tried the classic build and had the same problem. Back to windowed. It doesn't seem to be an fps prob. If I go OpenGl and uncheck the high res option I get a window mode and my fps hovers around 44, and my fog effect works but STILL have choppy camera. If I turn on high res on Open GL my fog effect wont work and it wont show a window it just plays like classic mode and STILL have choppy camera. If I switch back to Direct3D and try to run it with windowed checked, it gives me horizontal lines and an unplayable picture. But if I quit the game and restart with windowed checked in Direct3d it will come up like it is in classic mode and I run 400-700fps but still have the choppy camera. I tried all resolutoins with the same results.

The earlier posts referring to Windows Media Player helping reduce the problem (though I know it doesn't work for you feyd) ... that makes me think this might have something to do with audio rather than video or cpu usage.

So ... I could be wrong, but maybe experiment with Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices. Go into Audio -> Advanced -> Performance and experiment with setting it to Maximum (or Minimum).

Also, make sure that 3D Sound is disabled in Myth Prefs.

If those don't work, try turning off background sounds in Myth as well.

Indeed, I thought the same thing. I disabled my audio card as well to test but that didn't work. I just downloaded a file for camera speed (observer physics constants) that another person on the forum posted. That fixed the problem with the choppines but now its WAY too fast. I guess thats getting picky, but does anyone happen to have a relatively medium speed recommendation for the observer physics constants? and does anyone know why that would have fixed the choppiness?

If the camera is still choppy, chances are that everything in the game is choppy. See if the projectiles are choppy too, specially the arrows, and also check the scrolling in the menus.

Another way to "fix" the problem described in the first post is loading Firefox or other web browser and opens tons of tabs with heavy loading pages, like youtube, myspace and flash based ones. But since the WMP didn't work, things don't look good.

And I don't think it's sound based because I also have disabled my sound card (sound preferences in Myth wouldn't work at all) and nothing changed. It seem that things go smooth when there's another process/program allocating a lot of video memory (media player, tons of abs open, etc), or something like that.

I did the above untill my available memory was at around 450. Still choppy. Are you still experiencing the issue? I dont seem to have any lag at the menu screen at all but during the cutscene movies and in-game is when I experience it. Definatly the projectiles lag, especially the arrows.

well, its not my video card, the x1300 is not the problem. I went with onbard vid to test with same issues.

I have the same problem as you guys TFL and SB run choppy but M3 runs fine......oddness. Hopefully they will find and fix the problem in the next update.
