He's an "if it ain't broke don't even consider fixing it, EVER" type. Otherwise I'd have lots of gadgets running. He didn't even let me add a "Stop Hammertime" plugin to Firefox that gives you the option of clicking a hammer instead of a stop button. When it stops loading the page your PC shouts "Hammertime!". He's not one for risk taking. He does know how to look after a Mac better than anyone I know and is pretty good on a PC but is too cautious at times too.
Kensington optical scroll mice are < $15 USD in the local grocery store, I am sure they are cheaper online.
