I must be morally bankrupt, in that it bothers me less that Ren committed fraud, and bothers me more that all this stuff hasn't just leaked out onto Megaupload already. If it was as easily available as the soundtrack (which is just as illegal to be sharing) then stuff like this would never have happened.

I really don't see the problem here. Ren's name is worth mud here now, but if anyone chooses to work with him that then that's their prerogative. He did a dumb thing but unless someone wants to literally prosecute him for it, there's no sense dwelling on it. It's not like the community can enforce any kind of penalty on him (he was banned here, and is now posting again). All one can do is make a personal decision whether or not to deal with him.

godz, everyone knows YOUR take on the situation. I didn't post the criteria for purposes of condemning Ren, i posted because ooga asked for anyone to reply if what he said was incorrect.

on the ooga front, there's no need to condemn ooga for continuing to work on a project with someone he enjoys working with just because that person did something to _you_. fortunately, there's no pre-qualification that myth project members be saints, and since a) ooga hasn't done anything wrong, and b) ooga and ren have a many year history working together so it's perfectly logical that he would place more value on continuing that relationship than terminating it over something that occurred between ren and you, you need to either let go of your misplaced animosity toward ooga or at least stop flaming him about this in the public forums.

You know what, I could care less what happens to Renwood for the rest of time, just as long as I got back the $250 he stole from me under false pretenses. That money could take care of our family's food budget for close to a month the way we've cut down.

godz, while i am sympathetic to your circumstances and think the seller was a complete d-bag, you have to realize that even if you had gotten exactly what you expected you were paying for, you still would have had to survive on the same budget you are complaining about now.

Godz, you also received copyrighted material with full knowledge that you do not own it or have legal access to it. So, whether or not ren lied to you is beside the point - sale and reception are equally illegal. There may be penalties higher on one side than the other but rest assured both sides would suffer. Stop pretending complete innocence. You knew well in advance what you agreed to with ren was 100% illegal.

It just don't add up. There are that many online solutions for getting big files to one another that it doesn't really seem plausible to me that it would all hinge upon something getting sent in the (physical) mail. Why even agree to that?
