If it's a bug, it needs to get fixed, simple as that.

I'm still hoping that the Guard ability for missile units will finally be fixed so like melee, they will stand in one spot and STAY there regardless of getting hit or enemies too close to them.

One could debate whether 'guard' should work the same for missle units like archers.

It makes sense for melee units who you might want to stay in place and engage in battle when an enemy closes with them to have Guard make them stand their ground no matter what, but it's a harder argument to make that missle units who have _no_ auto-melee-attack so CAN'T attack or even defende themselves when an enemy gets too close should just stand there doing nothing while getting slaughtered.

Fine, I can argue that one, but running away after getting hit once definitely needs to get changed. As it stands now 'guard' is nonfunctional for missile. There has to be something in the code that didn't activate right. I honestly can't believe it still hasn't been corrected after all these years.
