The modern executable has been replaced with a new hotfix build for the T issue. I was never able to reproduce this issue myself, so I'm just taking it on faith from you guys. On-top mode is now toggled with Alt-F10.
The hotfix build is identified as "324a".
Edit: for the record, here is the offending line of code
Code: Select all
if(wParam == 'T' && GetKeyState(VK_CONTROL) && GetKeyState(VK_SHIFT))
toggle_always_on_top(TRUE);

That is supremely awesome. Thanks Mel!
I'll redownload the next time I'm going to get on.
Judging from that line of code something must be setting VK_CONTROL to true because i never needed to use ctrl for the toggle. Maybe you have to ctrl click at some point in the game before the bug becomes apparent?
In any case, thanks for the fix. It's going to make me a much happier myther =).

When I start 1.7 beta 2 I can only select OpenGL from the preferences screen, when I start 1.6 I can select OpenGL #1 or OpenGL #2 (I have two monitors). This is using OS X, 10.4. Going to restart my computer and see if I can use the correct monitor.
Edit: Restarting did not help, still running on wrong monitor.
Edit2: deleting my prefs lets me select the monitor again.
Edit3: But I must delete both "Screen device macosx" and "screen preferences"

Hold Option key when starting the game. This will let you choose which monitor you want to use.

Shift key to change map size is extremely annoying.
Aside from shift key being an overused key, when you shift drag select and mouse goes over the map, the map will resize.
Also in windowed mode myth will sometimes stay atop other windows.

Thanks for the report, it definitely should not be doing that.

In 1.7 you can no longer heal viles in mazz (mahirs). To reproduce just suicide all your artillery units at the start, a vile should appear just to the east (normal difficulty).
edit: Healing doesn't seem to work on standard mahirs either.

quote from mwc forums:
I also think there's a memory leak now because I had myth open for a ridiculous time which resulted in horrific fps drops to something like 5 frames per second.
I think something like this happened to me, too, when I once got higher fps just from quitting and rsing myth. Possible?
Also, I'll try to reproduce but I didn't save film of an fg slapping a jman on RiP that made the "hit" sound for no damage. Does this sound like a bug or a block?

With
The Seventh God solo levels (version 1.4):
* The Four-Body Problem. The level works out OK until I get to the end sequence where the elven mage zaps your four spies and the four goblin troops. The trouble is that that zapping does not stop and my troops get stuck somewhere as they return from peeking in on the goblin camp. They are under scripting control rather than mine, so they look blue when this happens; they get stuck a little northeast of the mountain gap before the camp.
* Strange Days. I don't know if I'm doing the level wrong, but I can get past the guards of the first gate, and then talk to the imprisoned disciple, the general in front of the second gate, and the elven mage in the infirmary. I can attack the red balls near the gates, and they come on briefly than off again, but the gates don't close or open. It may either be a 1.7 bug or else something that I overlooked somewhere -- it happens with other recent versions of Myth 2.
* My 1.7 version: the OSX Universal Binary.
* My computer and OS: an iMac with a 2-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB RAM, running OSX Leopard 10.5.7

Why do people feel the need to mention the expiration of the beta? Didn't they go through this once... and be patient?!
