Here's an idea for everyone!
Next time someone posts something that annoys you, IGNORE it instead of posting some pointless 'blah blah you suck blah blah' post in return and thereby launching into another of these long worthless argument that so proliferate on this forum.
Or is that too much to ask?

One can argue about the name of a plugin, but ... hear me out ...
It's not like you're looking at the name while you're playing is it??
One does not look at the mantlepiece while stoking the fire!

um though at some point the mantlepiece might seem so damn ugly and annoying that you just decide to toss it in the fire...
oh well back to the plug I look forward to seeing all the new units and all the inventory specials... fun stuff...

does any one even play it ? I only ever see one hosted game of someone playing alone. Are there scheduled nights for testing or something ?

I'd like to play it, but to get acceptable FPS I need to play at 1024x768 with detailed textures turned off. I've gotten far too used to playing at 1820x1080 with detailed textures on to give that up for a single tagset - no matter how pleasing on the eyes the newly rendered units/trees/scenery/effects (nice explosion/smoke btw) is.

shit, so it''s not only the greek multiplayers the ones with problems w/fps?
this plugin has the same problem?
so it seems high res lags on macs only?
or are you guys having problems w/pcs as well?

High Res does not lag on "Macs only".
Certain conditions make high res units lag. On computers. In general.
Renwood is just an idiot for making the blunt statement 'oh i guess iMacs dont work with high res then." after zeph posted a link to iMacs on the apple website. It was completly out of the blue.
I haven't had any drastic issues yet.
Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo
256 mb GeForce 8600M GT, cache set to 160Mb
1440x900 resolution
4 GB ram

keep this hateful garbage off the thread please
and yes, the only macs we've found so far that had great system specs and lagged ARE in fact imacs. if its not all imacs, oh-fucking-well. doesn't make anybody an idiot for not being 100% clairvoyant with all mac users everywhere

Just to report, it seems to run on my iMac pretty well. (2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, Radeon X1600 w/256 VRAM).*

Gray that's out of line. Ren isn't an idiot, he just doesn't know what he's talking about, there's a difference.

I'm in a similar boat. Runs pretty dang well, although I lose the odd frame if I zoom out to a Creep sized army. Mind you I've always been a bit myopic when playing Myth, I don't really mind keeping it zoomed in a bit.

my FPS drops from like 160 to 80 when it starts fighting, but goes back up after i've loaded all the frames I guess... It seems better than greek tagset...
though I have YET to find a game. Greek tagset only lagged during a fight vs another (carl) maybe that is the case with this plugin too.

DOH! i dont check back here for a few days and you guys start name calling each other hehe!
Lets get Carlinho the scripting help he needs guys! Would be a nice 3rd volley of asskicking HD content to see the Greek tagset in action! Carlinho's units are the same pixel height as the ones in our HD MythIV demo. Around 360 pixels tall i belive!
I would help sctip myself but all i can do it apply "stair of grief" scripting to single player maps. Allthough that scripting can be used to do just anybody anything if you get real sneaky with it.
Carlinho allready turned down my "scripting help" that i can offer, and i dont blame him!
Ren<------scripting noob 5000
BTW we will be releasing an update/patch to the MythIV The Wind Age HD multiplayer demo soon! with maybe a few new units and other goodies as well.
check out
