Tracking down the original models is the main priority. I'd be amazed if Take 2 knew that 3D models were used in the first place.
They're probably still looking for the 'clay originals'.
Outside of Blades and the 2 people I've already tried talking to, I could only imagine maybe a nostalgic 3D artist might have kept some of their work... even so it might have just been another job to them.

Christ, THIS GAME IS NOT WORTH UPDATING. THERE IS NO REASON TO UPDATE THE ENGINE, OR ADD IN ANY FANCY CRAP THAT GOES BEYOND THE SCOPE OF THE GAME ANYMORE.
The stuff you guys did with Special Forces, Frenzy, B&G, etc, it's amazing. Really. Mazz 6 is the masterpiece of all your work. But really guys....
IT IS A GAME. A 10 YEAR OLD COMPUTER GAME.
THERE IS ALMOST NOTHING ELSE LEFT TO DO TO IT. THERE IS NO ONE LEFT TO PLAY IT.
Just listen to you guys go on and on about shit. People don't think about "The low specifications of a game", and no one here is really asking for upgrades so they can have arrows BLOT OUT THE SUN.
Would some slightly better graphics be nice? Or More complex bits of the game upgraded? SURE. But christ do you realize how stupid you sound with this "no Myther left behind?" crap?
FUCK UPGRADING THE GAME ENGINE. FUCK UPGRADING THE GRAPHICS. FUCK IT ALL. IT'S NOT WORTH IT.
So long as this game can be played on Modern Operating Systems with everything working, there are no problems left to fix.
The only people who would take advantage of any of this advanced stuff are the same people you've chatted with on this forum for the last several years. You think I'm going to make a map? You think a person who torrents this game (yeah, let's be realistic here) after playing Halo 3 is going to make a map?
The only REASONABLE thing left to do is for this game's data assets to be made available to the few fans left. Get over the petty drama, suck it up, and try to get a hold of Blades, or whoever the fuck has this stuff sitting on a Hard Drive.
- Get the original Unit Models out into the wild WHERE THEY CAN DO SOME GOOD. Who knows, maybe you could spiff them up with modern tools. The point is just let people use them.
- Get ANY OTHER data assets that would be useful towards the upkeep of the game that people DO NOT have access to right now. Whatever this stuff is, it's doing no good locked away. Anything is better than nothing.
Oh, and here's one last REASONABLE REQUEST.
GET CUTSCENES TO RUN ON INTEL MACS. IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. I can already watch the footage using VLC, I'm just lacking sound. Same to Cutscenes.gor.
Hell, making that available rather than just leaving a version of it hidden on the uDogs Hotline would be great too.
