I'm a newbie to Myth, so I don' have any idea of the stuff that happened after the Bungie server sploded. But now, exluding the Myth Jumpers meeting every Friday, MariusNet is deserted. What caused PlayMyth to get a practical monopoly of Multiplayer?

mariusnet always had the monopoly of TFL.
playmyth.net always had the monopoly of m2 (except when pmnet didn't exist and mnet did).
almost no one plays TFL anymore, so mnet is dead.
i believe myth2 v1.5 did the biggest damage to TFL and mnet. when it came out people were like, "oh cool, now we can play TFL on m2 even though we hate m2," so many TFLers started playing m2 (on pmnet) and mnet died not too long after.
then eventually mnet went down for the few people that were still playing it. accounts and ranking still dont work today.

I just saw that website DA...if someone keeps it up to date..I would more than happy to get some classic TFL games going. The main reason I don't play much Myth anymore is the lack of TFL.

Mythforums and mnet are both (I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong) hosted by PPE, which is why mnet has stayed up though its website is gone. If he's had problems with his hardware or whatever then that'd bring them both down. At least I hope that's all it is, as there was a post on mythforums asking if anyone would notice if the site disappeared...

Hehe, that Poll has been up for over a year now. Yeah, they are both PPE, as is the busier Roof Gaming, which is also down. Hardware troubles perhaps...

I just tried going onto mariusnet.com and the website wouldn't load. From what I'v heard, that will also mean that the game server is down also.
