There hasn't been much talk of UB Patch for Myth 2, so I opened this poll! Vote if you don't want Myth 2 to fade away once your beefy G5 iMacs knack themselves.

I've voted in favour of a UB patch for the following reasons:
a) If we don't, Myth 2 will fade once Apple discontinues all the G4/G5 CPUs.
b) It will fade away eventually once our "new" beefy G5 iMacs/ G5 Towers knack themselves. I mean my G3 iMac faced a near death experience, and it tore me up inside. *sobs*
c)Everyone else is doing it: for example, Aspyr have made a UB for The Sims 2 and plan to make others for University and Nightlife.
d) We will probably have to give into Intel soon enough. Apple have already discontinued G4 Mac Minis and G5 iMacs. I only recently got a G5 iMac and it's already "obsolete".

You are forgetting that we have mixed reports about running Myth 2 on intel macs as is. Some people say it works great, others say it's problematic.
It's probably worthwhile for us to determine the extent of the problem before deciding that it's even necessary for the new hardware. It's possible that there is no need for a universal binary.

I'm aware of the fact that people claim that it works fine and other individuals say gameplay is impaired. I'm asking for people's opinion.
Also if it is problematic, Myth 2 could fade away once Apple discontinues the iBook G4s, Powerbook G4s and Powermac G5s. The iMac G5s are already gone from the Apple Store!
Also, once Apple discontinues G4s and G5s, Myth TFL and SB are fairly helpless once all of our PowerPC Macs knack themselves!

Can't Intel macs run Windows? Why not just run the Windows version of Myth then?
Dun dun duuuh.

Because you'd have to shell out a serious wad of cash for an OS to run one program that should be working anyway.

There's a lesson in this. Take care of your 'real' Mac.

You forgot Windows can run stuff other than Myth. It's not shelling money out just for Myth. It shelling money out for a whole new world of buggy opportunities.

ditto these sentiments, as well.
I'll also add that the current crop of programmers of this game "Myth" haven't exactly been in receipt of serious wads of cash either, so expecting flawless operation on a new OS is a bit premature.

Well yes, except:
1) Apple's Boot Camp is still in Beta Status, therefore there are bugs around it anyway.
2) You need your own version of Windows, which are incredibly expensive sometimes and I wouldn't bother.
3) Apple won't provide Techinical Support for Windows. Sooo, if you had a problem that stopped Windows from working, Apple can't/won't help even if a bug in Boot Camp is responsible...
4) It only works on Intel Macs, so PowerPC users would have to get Virtual PC which is also expensive.
5) I can't say this without taking someone's side completely, but everyone knows that Macs do things better.
6) In my opinion, PowerPCs strike me as better than Intel. The new Intel CPUs are only better because they're more beefy!

and the coders dont have intel macs...
if we all put together a few bucks to buy them an intel mac i am sure they would be able to code an update, but im sure people like me who are running windows wouldnt want to throw away a few bucks to help. Perhaps the 10-15 of you that want it absolutely because it doesn't work could give the coders a good... lets say 100 each?

CIK has an intel iMac. But that doesn't mean we can't reward the programmers for their hard work.

Running windows on an Intel iMac is a poor choice for Myth. Because who is gonna go buy a copy of Windows just to run Myth. Mb to run Halflife 2 or something, but not Myth.
I'm looking into making a Universal build of Myth II. There are a few issues on how it will be distributed. Because it will use Quicktime for the cutscenes which means you need the very nicely done highrez quicktime cutscenes. Which makes for something too large for a download.
One idea is to take donations for the effort and send DVDs to folks who have donated. But this is all still in the idea stage. If properly motivated I could probably have something out in a week or two after 1.5.2 ships.

Hmm well if it is really for people playing online so they would probably not care for the lack of cutscenes.
