I'm trying to make a map (I've never done so before) and I have everything on it. I have the observers and I have units, but when I load the map in Myth II, it just goes to the main menu. Every player has an observer and units.

if it goes to the main menu it means there's either a tag conflict or some tags missing.
when you load the mesh and have it go to the main menu, quit myth straight away and open a file called "myth_log.txt". if you don't understand what it says (chances are you won't until you have a little more experience under your belt), copy and paste it here and someone can decipher it for you and suggest how to fix your map.

Closing Myth.
i understand what it means a little bit, it cant find prologue.smk and some kind of variable too large or small... i think

prologue.smk is the first cutscene you ever saw in the game. it's complaining about not finding it because you don't have it on your hard drive or the cd in your drive. that's not a problem, so forget about it from now on.
Error: Array Out of Bounds in shapes.c, line #1225: sequence #0 not in [#0,#0) for "Snow Village" collection
this means that your "Snow Village" collection is missing a sequence that is being called. i don't know what that collection is, so i can't say anything more.
if you open it in loathing you may see more errors (probably not, but it's possible).
normally i'd expect to say that processing on another tag type has failed, in conjunction with this message, so not seeing it is strange. is it your colour map?
anyway, fill in the details about what that collection is and what tags call it and we can move on.

I have absolutely no idea what it's talking about. I have't edited anything in Fear, except the Snow Village mesh tag. All I've done is check off "is complete" and a few other things that are just gameplay related. I have no idea what to tell you next.

This is what happens when I try to test in on Playmyth.net

testing on a metaserver is bound not to work. it's been like that since very early days when bungie disabled local tags when playing on metaservers. you'll have to test it by playing via tcp/ip, or else building a plugin before testing on pmnet.
as for the "is complete" flag, i take it that "snow village" is a new mesh and you checked it on? (otherwise i guess it wouldn't have appeared.)
can you tell me what you see in the log when you open the mesh in loathing?

I finally got it to work. I did something stupid with the overhead map, I thought I could use the color map for the overhead map, that's what was crashing it. But, it still crashes on PMnet (I built a plugin).

from opening Loathing (I just opened the program, it's mentioning plugins I have that it apprently doesn't like, but I've never done anything with them)

ah, cool. glad it was a simple solution.
interesting that it crashes on pmnet, though. what does the log tell you then, if it takes you to main menu?
