Hey All,

Could someone please explain to me precisely what "Recompute Mesh LOD" does in Loathing?

The description given in the Loathing doc doesn't really explain it to me:

Recompute Mesh LOD - Recomputes the LOD of the mesh fixing any abnormalities in the mesh.

Thanks!

Many large models will delete the mesh cells that are under them. If you place such a model on a mesh, and then you delete the model, the mesh cells that were deleted will still be deleted, creating a weird hall of mirrors effect on the map. Recompute Mesh LOD restores those deleted cells.

THAT was the equation!

(Sorry - obscure Classic Star Trek reference there... :;): )

Thanks! I've been wondering what that did precisely. Wonder if LOD stands for "Large Object Displacement" or something?

Traditionally LOD has stood for "Level of Detail". Or did I miss a joke?

No joke (that I know of) - "Level of Detail" makes sense to me - one of those little mysteries finally solved, thanks! :D
