It's interesting to me that no one has yet made a Lord of the Rings plug, it seems ideal for Myth. A very hard undertaking but if done correctly, the end result could be great.

what do you think?

I think this topic has been mentioned b4.....

I would totally support it, but too much for me.

I remember seeing one once though... Gimli was the axe dwarves out of Seventh God... all the others were the same. I have a VERY faint memory of it. I think the hobbits were short warriors or short villagers. Short Something-ers.

I don't think anyone will ever get around to making a good (sorry, whoever made that plug-in) LOTR plug-in and finishing it.

Too bad. Maybe we can go back in time and do it earlier. When people still played Myth.

Cid is right..there is a small plugin that was called LotR. It wasn't that great (sorry to maker). It was a time in Myth when 20 plugs were being made and uploaded daily. Try checking out the latest LotR PC game. I forget the name of it, my nephew loves it. Do NOT buy the LotR's 3rd age I think its called, I played it on Gamecube and it wasn't even worth the rent. :0
Take care.

well, the seventh god has a lot of the lord of the rings...
I bet if you are interested you could ask the creators of the seventh god for permission to use their units and create a LOTR plugin.
but then again...it's a lot of work...hehe

omG no whey I don't give my permission!!!!!

Besides, I'm not really sure that there would be any point in making a LotR plugin when all you are doing is copying already existing units...

You could make some LotR solo levels and make them compatible with the TSG Tagset...

a LotR plugin would have to be solo based. We've thought about it previously, but the main drawback is the absence of units capable of chucking explosives. Bows & Swords only = boring mb.

Hey don't forget the Gandalf unit! He can use his staff for uber melee, and some awsome magic stuff like creating light when in darkness.

true ... but its not the same as being able to toss a lit bottle into a bunch of thrall ;)

If you were to stay true to the story, his magic would be little used in battle except when fighting a wizard or balrog. And in melee he uses Glamdring, not the staff ;)

Yep. Freedom 1 was boring, it had no dwarves. I relented for number 2. But that isn't to say that the dwarves are the same as usual... good god no!

As for a LOTR plugin - just have fight scenes punctuated by slow motion bits where people cry out (of course, their voices are muted) then have bits where emotional music plays and Sam cheers Frodo up. There you have it - LOTR in 30 seconds.

If you made a LotR plug, you could make up explosives tossed by units. Though few explosives existed in the story, in a game to make it fun you cold have Aragorn throw molotovs or something. I don't think it would change the story too much.

I bet all LOTR-fans will try to lynch you for this statement... :p

Hater ;)

A ringwraith unit would be cool too.

ringwraith ... melee + poison darts or black death missile. Ability to ride horse or dragon, or walk on foot.

Interesting, and very possible with 1.5.1 :)

Excellent. Could it come with the flying dragon accesory?
