you have to run the setup.exe in windows NT service pack 5 compatability mode

Bollocks to that!

Just cntrl-alt-delete the 'error' window. That's what I did - the thing stayed installed. Never failed me (and it's the way people USED to do it!) None of these high-fallutin' service pack whatnot.

hi Iron, I tried to install the game in computer with Win98 OS and it works !!! So I doubt my CD has any scratched.

Just wondering, does myth 2 allow user to finish the installation process before it asked for Win NT SP 5 ? because sometimes it ask me for Win NT but sometime it doesn't

just wondering, since I can install the game successfully in other computer with Win98. Can I install the game and then copy back to my PC ?

or do I need some patches before I do that ? (i.e 1.5 with no CD crack)

either copy it across then apply the 1.5 updater, or aply 1.5 first and then copy it - both methods would work fine :)

yeah, that's what I think too. does the game use registry in window ? I think if it does create registry in the computer, I can't simply copy across from one computer to another one isn't it ?

It does create a few registry entries, but they are not critical and the game will run fine with out them.

The 1.5 updater app though uses them to find where the game is installed, without the entries you will need to manually point it to the location if you copy to some where other then the default.

thanks CIK, sounds like I can copy the game from one computer into another.

If the 1.5 updater need to find the game by using registry entries, then I will install the updater first before I copy it back to my computer !!!

I love my mac. My Soulblighter CD is finally too scratched to install/play from, so I use a practically blank CD named "Myth II", and it still works fine. (the CD has an image on it, but I don't know how to burn a CD from an image so I just use the thing to store the image until I figure it out).

Will, try running Myth II without any CD.
