I recently found my old copy of Myth TFL and wanted to play it again. After googling around for Myth patches I found this site and downloaded and installed the 1.5.1 beta patch for it. The only problem I had was that I use to play Myth on an old Rendition video card, but now I am using a Geforce 4 go video card and can't seem to enable 3d support. I cannot select any of the options besides software including direct3d which I thought I should be able to? Just wondering if this was normal?

Yes this is normal. TFL doesn't support Direct3D, we are considering adding support for OpenGL so you can play it using hardware renderering. You can also checkout OpenGlide which emulates a 3dfx card using OpenGL. FPS is very poor using OpenGL, but people have used it with TFL & Myth II with some degree of success.

With today's computers, running an old game like Myth through a wrapper is no problem, assuming the wrapper works well ;)

I had a pretty good experience using openglide, i believe the only visual quirk i ran into was the unit selction lines being a different colour or not being drawn or something.

Also there's the wrapper at http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/

I found it gives you much faster fps than OpenGlide when I tried it with Myth 2.

Hmmm... is this thing with the wrapper a safe method? Or are there some ... unexpectable events concerning the systems integrity possible? (Wow, what a diplomatic description for a ordinar crash! :) )

I didn't experience any crashes. Your mileage may vary.
