Any particular reason the best-fit screen resolution leaves sixty blank pixels at the bottom of the screen?

Probably because prior to Apple introducing the new powerbook revision a month ago, 1440 x 960 was an extremely uncommon resolution to have.

I suppose I'm just underestimating the presence of 1440x900 monitors, then, as I'd consider them rather odd as well.
A quick Google search demonstrates my error. Are there plans to support 1440x960?

Perhaps we can cook something up for 1.5.1d (the next silent update to 1.5.1). The silent update will probably be released sometime before Christmas.
