Very strange.
Installation, both small or large, won't complete.

A message appears saying " Service pack 3 needed to run in windows NT".
I have windows XP home edition.

Any answers to this one?

This is for people using XP. XP has the ability to run programs in a compatibility mode. The Myth installer needes to run in Win 98 mode in order to work.

Also once you get it installed download and run the 1.5.1 updater to bring Myth up to date. 1.5.1 is fully XP compatabile.

The easiest solution (for me anyway) was just ctrl-alt-deleting the error window. The installer would close down and the files would remain installed. Problem solvered.

It's from an Australian TV ad.

You know Will, Reigi had the same problem at Bungie.net. He said "problem solvered" and everyone was like "OMG REIGI MADE A SPELLING MISTAKE". I had to go in and testify.

Solver is a brand of paint over here. The ad slogan was always "Problem Solvered".

And - *laughs* at the Bungie.net thing, Cid. That forum is full of morons anyway, I still refuse to post there. I don't know how you cope with moderating their incessant crap.

right click on the executable in question, click on properties, then the compatability tab, then click on the enable compabailty mode checkbox and select win98 from the drop down list, click on ok. next time the exe is run, it will be in run in win98 compatability mode.

Brute force always helps, no?

I always do the same whenever I have to install Myth on a PC... there was a long, five-step workaround somewhere, so I read it and adapted it to fit my style.

Enjoy.
