We have the technology...

Check this out: I found a PowerPC emulator called
SheepShaver, which is capable of running OS9. It took me a while to get it working, but I finally got it.
Here's a screen of Amber running under OS9, running under SheepShaver, running under XP
Now I can finally have a chance to use these apps again (my last mac died years ago) as a reference for designing Oak.

Thanks capital. I am always here, in spirit
To get this running, you basically need to acquire an "old-world" 4MB Mac OS Rom image, and a copy of OS9. I still have my OS9 CD but getting a rom image that actually worked took a while. I tried about 8 of them I found on the net (and they're not easy to find) before finding one that worked.

There will be plenty of lovin' for all. (i.e. Yes.)

Wow, someone is excited
Oak is still going to be a while. However, I have (recently) decided that certain features will not make it to the first release, which will speed up the first release.

Good to hear about Oak, Melekor. Many people have been waiting on Amber for windows for a long time now. I've seen a few pics of what Oak is capable of and I can't wait.

If you look in Melekor's website in the "Abandoned Projects" page, you see what's left of it. It includes the Medic.
Melekor, good luck with Oak. Will it be a Universal version or at least run well in "Rosetta" on intel macs? Mac Users will soon be eaten up by the intel macs unless we give Apple a lot of money!

By design, Oak can be compiled for pretty much any platform. Universal binaries are possible, if that's what you guys want.

It wont be needed if it runs fine in Rosetta.

I guess I would be as excited if I knew what "Oak" was.
Findind a good emulator is good news though. My Mac was buried many years ago.

Oak is a Myth Editing Suite. I think. It's a mix of Fear, Loathing and Amber.

Almost. I'd say it's a mix of Fear, Amber and Vegas. It can load maps too but loathing-like functionality is at the very bottom of my priority list.

I'd even settle for just Fear and Amber integrated
I still can't wait for it.. I've got big plans

Melekor, I am hoping you can have some sort of M3 compatiblity with Oak, as there are so many possibilities for editing them.
P.S. Is there a webpage or something that has any information on it, or whatever?
