A few questions

Hi, people, excuse me for possible stupid questions, but i just dont know where else i could ask about this...

1. Who can tell me (or give a replay) about how to complete a "White Cliffs" mission in Myth 2 on legendary difficult? I am stuck with it.

2. And also the same request about mission 2 and mission 14 in the Myth 3 (though i dont know are you discusing the 3rd part at all).

3. Another question is about technical aspect... I downloaded the TFL missions update pack (16 Mb) for Myth 2, but here is the problem - i only have a pirate ripped and translated version of TFL, so i got an error when i tried to setup the TFL levels - but where lies the problem? The archive artsounds.gor just doesnt have the right files or it doesnt have the right file check sum, which is required for the installation?

You see I only have a poor dial-up connection and thus cannot download the 140 mb full version and in the same time it is impossible to get in my city (and even buy) the full original english version of TFL. So is there other ways for me to install the TFL levels?

4. And the last quetsion - do you plan to import the Myth 3 solo campaign to Myth 2 engine as well, as it was done with TFL? This could be a great thing, because i dont like the graphics and gameplay in the 3rd part at all.

BTW - you did a great job by improving this games. Thank you for this.

About your other questions I don't know but
1. Who can tell me (or give a replay) about how to complete a "White Cliffs" mission in Myth 2 on legendary difficult? I am stuck with it.
Heres my "graceful" attempt, ghols got my dwarves pretty bad but I won... http://hl.udogs.net/files/Uploads/--MYT ... 202006.zip

White falls is a tough one to beat solo, because you only get 12 minutes. As soon as you start head left and walk along the beach staying in the green spots to avoid cannon fire, until you come to another opening. Your zerks are the most important, use them to smash through the souls, giving them cover with your arcs. Hurry to the back gate of the castle, and kill the fetch there with your arcs. Now is the part where 2 people come in handy. Your dwarves can attack the outside of the wall, throwing bottles up onto the cannons and destroying the closest. Then sneak your remaining zerks through the fetch and thralls inside the castle to take the other cannon. Im sure there are other ways, what I do is save all 12 zerks for the end and send 6 to each cannon.

here what it says at the graveyard http://mything.org/index.php?a=article- ... 0000000132

Level X: Landing at White Falls

Your Units
Berserks
Bowmen
Dwarves
Journeyman
Alric (computer-controlled)

Enemy Units
Thrall
Ghôls
Soulless
Wights

Goal
Fight your way up the beach.
Take out the two cannon crews in the stronghold to the south.

Walk-through
1. This mission is time-sensitive; if the bombardment goes on too long, the ship, with Alric aboard, will sink, so you haven't a second to lose. Move quickly, save often and don't dawdle.

2. As you emerge from the surf, immediately Dwarf the approaching Thrall into the dunes. MAP

3. Take your entire force and move it quickly eastward down the beach along the surf line. Change direction frequently to avoid being hit by cannon fire. When you reach the far-east end of the beach, turn south. Note that there are numerous ways to get off the beach, but this seems to be the most scantily defended. MAP

4. Proceed south until you see a pair of Soulless nests guarding the exit from the beach. Set up your Bowmen on a hill, if possible, and run a single Berserk back and forth in front of the Soulless. The Berserk will draw their fire while your Bowmen pick away. Work quickly and fire uphill if you absolutely must. Time is short. Remember that Fire Arrows are very effective against Soulless as long as they aren't hovering over sand, which doesn't burn. MAP

Run your Berserks back and forth to distract the Soulless while you pepper them with your Bowmen.
5. Once these nests are clear and you have punctured any wandering Wights, move south through the pass and stop to fight any Thrall, Wights, or Ghôls who attack you en route. Don't spend too much time worrying about the Wights; waiting for them to come into range wastes valuable time. MAP

6. You will soon see the stronghold off to the west. Setup outside the door for a wave of Ghôls and Thrall who are waiting for your arrival. MAP

7. Enter the stronghold and turn north to the ramps leading up to the cannon nests. Beware more Thrall, Ghôls, and Fetches guarding the courtyard. MAP

8. March your entire team of Berserks up one of the ramps and target the Ghôl manning the cannon. Don't trifle with the other units stationed up there, and don't be too intimidated by the Dwarf heads they throw at you. You'll have plenty of time to hack them once the crucial Ghôl is dead. MAP

9. Next, climb the other ramp and repeat this procedure. When both cannons are silenced, the mission ends.

Thank you for replay and text walkthrough. You know, i used the same strategy, but it seems i loosed much more time, killing souless - that is why i cannot finish it. Nevertheless today i was able to complete it, loosing almost all my berserkers though...

BTW, what about my other questions?

Yes, use a download manager and download the full plugin over several sessions:

I'm pretty sure someone was at least attempting that.

I don't play Myth III, but the only set of Myth III level walkthroughs I have ever seen are mirrored at Mything.org.

The problem is you are stealing software. You can buy Myth : The Fallen Lords brand new or you can buy it used but unless you have no credit/debit card and you can't get someone to purchase it for you (xmas gift idea maybe?) you obviously have access to a computer and the internet so your excuse that no store in your city has it is a really, really, really lame excuse for stealing the software. Don't ask for help breaking international copyright laws, get a legal copy THEN ask for help if you need it.

Well, of course i know what is the download manager and why it is needed... The problem is that downloading 140 mb is too expensive for me, so i am trying to find an easy way.

No offence, but you made me laugh...
In 1st it is easy to judge, when you in other country and doenst know about current situation. So such "funny" words about "lame, lame excuse" is just senseless.
In 2nd by the law of our country pirate soft is the head pain of manufactures, not the buyes, so you can freely get pirate soft and it will be absolutely legal.

So, please, if you have nothing to say about the question itself, better then say nothing at all!

Unless "in your country" you all are still using the barter system so don't have bank accounts or use currency my comment is not senseless at all. If you have a bank account you can set up a paypal account and purchase Myth TFL on CD on ebay for well under $10 USD.

Two things.

1) what country do you live in?

2) Just because something is freely available does NOT mean it is legal. I know many teenagers in the US who think it's perfectly legal to download copyrighted movies and CDs because there are so many sites you can download them from. "Easy" doesn't mean "Legal".
Darkloke wrote: So, please, if you have nothing to say about the question itself, better then say nothing at all!
a) Perhaps you edited out the part of my reply where I very helpfully provided you a link to answer your Myth III question? Ah yes, I thought so. btw, you are welcome.

b) My reply provided a solution to your problems getting Myth TFL to run. You choose to ignore my legal solution, but that doesn't mean my solution wasn't related to your question.

c) You might want to check and make sure Project Magma allows conversations on this forum about how to get bootleg versions of Myth running. I could be wrong, but given their development agreement with Take2 I somehow doubt it's an acceptable topic.

vinyl,

I think he isn't trying to pirate the game Myth: The Fallen Lords, but trying to download the plugin The Fallen Levels for Myth II.

Yes, most people use currency because bank accounts unpopular among people after finance default in 1998. So if you are so cool, that think about such countries as primitive ones, so it is the problem of your conceit.
f you have a bank account you can set up a paypal account and purchase Myth TFL on CD on ebay for well under $10 USD.
Yeah... +shipping cost +potential risks... IMHO it is not worth it.
1) what country do you live in?
See under my nickname in the left.

I dont know US laws... In my case i gave money for the stuff and have a check to offer, so all troubles go to the seller of this stuff.

What do you mean? I am not an admin to edit posts. I answered only those parts i saw and the only link i saw was in your signature.

Well, i dont know about their politic about this. I am just trying to install mod on the single version of the game i have and it is possible that most of the russian players will have the same trouble (of course, if they visit this forum). I dont know why you began this legal/pirate stuff topic. May be there is need only one small modification in the install.exe to allow setup TFL levels on all game versions.

I know the problem he is having is with The Fallen Levels, I was responding to his comment " i only have a pirate ripped and translated version of TFL, so i got an error when i tried to setup the TFL levels".

I admit I got a little off track, but it seemed at first glance that he was asking for help getting his pirated Myth software to run. I know I am outdated, but that just pisses me off. Especially when you can buy the game new for under $10.

I don't think you are primitive if you are using currency. My point was if your country uses currency and has bank accounts you could buy Myth TFL _if you wanted to_.

In the US paying for something illegal does not protect the buyer.

I provided a link to Myth III level walkthroughs at Mything.org. The link takes you directly to the walkthroughs.

I didn't bring up the topic - I am talking about it because YOU mentioned that you have an illegal pirated copy of TFL on your computer, and now here you are continuing to fish for help getting your bootleg software to run.

Ok, thanks again.

Well, as i see nobody can tell me how to update *my* version of the myth, so may be at least someone knows where to buy a new one (on low cost and international shipping)?

If you scroll up and look back at the comment I wrote to you yesterday at 11:04 am (Post subject: "Re: A few questions") You will find 2 links. One for places where you can buy TFL new, and one where you can buy it used. If you go to those links and change the search criteria I am sure you can find links to buy SoulBlighter and The Wolf Age as well.

I am afraid you will have to actually click a few of the links to determine the international shipping costs.
