1.6 and Out of Sync

K...
I've noticed a lot of games lately where everyone goes oos. I pretty much never saw this last year or the year before. It seemed like 1.5 had completely eradicated oos except for extremely rare casing, making oos games in myth a problem of the past. Now maybe one out of twenty games I play will see everyone going oos like a quarter of the way into the game. Could this be due to v1.6?
Also... I'm currently running build 286 of 1.6. What's the benefits of upgrading to build 290? Could upgrading possibly cause more oos!?!?! OMFGZORZ

if everyone updates to 290 you wont have anymore OOSes. If some people are on 286 and other 290 there will be a few OOSes here and there. So I suggest updating.

I was hosting a few games Autumn and I've been having appallingly large amounts of OOS lately. Hopefully my reinstall should fix my myth!
Will the old builds of 1.6 expire? Otherwise I see many people sticking with them.

They should, 289 may not, since it was supposed to be a release. If there is oos, make sure you update update update!

You know its quite annoying to have no readme telling you how to install, you then install the update and WHAM you have your readme kindly informing you that you installed it wrong.

One of the 1.6.0 installers for Windows had an old beta executable inside it by mistake. The people who installed that will go OOS sometimes unless they update to the real 1..6.0.

The readme which appears after installing, tells you to install 1.5.1 and then 1.6. Since I have been testing previous builds of 1.6 I simply ran the installer of build 290 over an old build. OOS occurred, whether it was in fact caused by the other people in the game running older builds of 1.6 or not was unclear so I did a complete reinstall.
