Well the first place to start is download the existing pirate mods... and see what you think.. I think there were at least two created Pimps at sea was by bungie staffers Pirates of the Caribean and one other one I think had ship to ship battles try a google search of hl.udogs.net or some one here could maybe send you a link...

Have fun.

Pimps at Sea existed in one form or another? I always thought it was just rendered in some application as a gag, but had no functional equivalent.

First, before you do any of that; 'oi' isn't a pirate word, you mean 'ahoy' :P

Maybe it's a skinhead accent for 'aye'?

ps. "Pimps at Sea" was never a 'real' Myth II plugin/conversion. It was an April Fools Day joke that's been perpetuated and added to (by Bungie even) since it's origin in 2002. Up until as recently as last year they were still using the name "Pimps at sea" as a codename for Halo 3.

Both. They are maps with custom units/weapons/physics/scenery/models/etc.

You might find some useful articles about model making here, if you just want a list of all mapmaking related tools, try this list - though you'll have to do some reading to find what you are looking for. Recent useful tools can be found at The Tain.

fyi: Historical Myth 2 mapmaking wisdom is that you will need Amber which is a Mac only program.

Plenty of pirate mods it seems..

well with all those pirate mods we should have a pirate night on playmyth... lol... and though pimps at sea was an april foolz joke in the beginning probably started by Mordia I think an aspiring myther did at one point make it a reality so google beyond wikipedia ...

would be fun for someone to combine them all into one plug for 1.6 as for tools and tricks to making stuff the links giving will send you to the needed tools. have fun.

"google beyond wikipedia"? Please be my guest - over the past few years I've researched and catalogued almost 2000 myth maps and plugins (1933 to be exact) and I've not come across any information that Pimps at Sea was an actual plugin/map. But even having done all that research I still googled before I responded to your post. I actually found LOTS of non-Google references to Pimps at Sea being an April Fools joke NOT a real map, I included the wikipedia article at the top of the list because it was the most comprehensive single source of information and laid out the whole history of the joke and it's origins.

But please do some searching on your own, if you can find evidence that it actually was a map, I'd love to be proven wrong if it means another Myth map I can play.

Believe what you will, if you are tech savvy and have a legal source of access to Mac ROM chips you might be able to get Amber to run under one of the OS 9 era Mac emulators that run in windows. Personally, I'd rather spend $25 and pick up an old mac that can run OS 9/Amber fine than spend hours trying to get the emulation up and working on a Windows machine. But that's just me. I don't do windows.

Of course there are a few mapmaker developers still writing tools to help mapmakers so who knows? There are always rumors and rumors of rumors.

SheepShaver, a PPC Mac emulator, runs fine on Macs, Windows and Linux, not just Windows.

But yes, it's a pain to setup correctly. You need to find a ROM, and an OS 8 or OS 9 install CD (but not newer than 9.0.4).

Did I read this right? Or did you mean it works with Windows XP (or some variant) and not Vista (or another variant)
