Intel macs and Myth II not working.

Hello,

I've decided to to grab my Myth II after a long , long time, and look for an Intel version of the game. I found one on Project Magma's site, 1.6, but it's not working properly. It doesn't launch at all.

This is what i did:

-Put Myth II CD in computer (Yes, it's an legal one.)

-Since installer doesn't work, dragged the Myth 2 folder to desktop.

-Downloaded 1.6, and then dragged the files (cept for local, tags, plugin because they were empty, and they were in the folder as well so)

-Put the plugins in the plugin folder.

Now if i launch Myth II universal i get this:

2007-09-09 16:59:51
Myth II 32-Bit |iUniversal|p - Build 290 running under MacOS 1049 (Intel) ----------------------------------------------
Could not find all the required patch files. Please re-install the 1.5.1 update.

What did i do wrong?

Note: When the Myth II universal was still in the patch-folder, i accidently clicked on it and it launched, giving me the same error.

---Oh i'm sorry, i thought no one asked this question before, but i seems people did. ( I googled for it, but found nothing so i thought it was safe to ask.) I'll try what you guys said in the other topics.

To install on a mac, you have to install 1.5.1 first.

Directions:

Mac: If you need to do a fresh install, download the Myth 2 1.5.1 update ( http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/myth-ii-1-5-1-mac), and run the install from CD application. This will install a fresh copy of Myth 1.5.1. Next you need to update to 1.6 which you can do by just downloading and following the instructions (If you have an intel mac: http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/m ... 6-mac-os-x) (If you have a trusty PPC or older: http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/myth-ii-1-6-mac). (It is worth noting the Intel one will run fine on a PPC, and vice versa, just some of that optimization business)

Thanks, i'll delete the one i have now (I just put in the 1.5.1 stuff, but it has to copy every fucking file from the disc making loading sluggish.) and then download the 1.5.1 installer i guess.

''run the install from CD application. ''

Wait, what do you mean? The installer on the CD doesnt work on my mac.

When you download the 1.5.1 updater from that first link (I forgot a space in the post orginally, corrected), there is an installer called the "Myth II Installer" (it says to use if you do not currently have myth installed). This installer will install from the CD (So put your CD in, run it, and it will install a fresh copy of 1.5.1).

Really, a disgusting process. We need a 1.6 install-from-disk installer...

:) I saw the disc in my CD-case pile so i decided to play it again. Playing SP campaign now, though i keep getting bushwacked.

I'm kinda disappointed that making maps is still way hard :\

Keep practising, you need to get the feeling first ;) Also, I've never really tried map-making, I'm more like the parasite, nagging for more plugins

I'll make a reply here - How to get those cut scenes working? I don't see them.

No idea why I'm going back so far in this stuff, but are you still playing myth dutchjelle??? +cutscenes don't work on macosx since smacker won't run. And you need smacker to play the cutscenes. It will be fixed in 1.7 with quicktime cutscenes though.

Killerking.
