Bungie has been forced by Microsoft to make Halo game after Halo game -- something they never would have done had they stayed independent. These guys are burned out. I'd imagine they're at the end of Halo 3 and wanting to take their gaming ideas and start doing something FUN instead of being slave driven. I'd also imagine Microsoft has plans otherwise.

It's not officially confirmed, but seems to be true.

Halo DS (lol?)
The irony of things is that I own a DS and it will never be released.

I know people at Bungie has SAID they hate sequels, but even when they were their own masters they made what... 2 or 3 Marathon sequels? They might have _wanted_ to make something different, but odds are that to keep everyone fed they would have been making Halo sequels all by themselves. The difference I imagine is that when they were in control of their own destiny they could shift resources around so while Halo 2 was mostly done and in beta some of them could have been working on a different project where I am guessing MS kept them as mono-focused Halo slaves.
Heh. MS has known how to destroy their competitors for years, now it seems they've learned how to destroy their own goose that laid the golden egg.

The funny thing is we want them for another Myth sequel. But maybe they would be more willing to do that since they haven't gotten to play around with Myth for a while. But there is always the problem of the license. Or maybe a completely new RTS?

I have a feeling they are interested in bigger and better things, rather than Myth IV

Yeah me too. I really hope that whatever they do it's not another action/fps game.
