Anybody know WHO made CBI (COOP Brothers Inc.)?
there is no information on who made this anywhere, and its an awesome creation. anybody who likes carnage should check it out. its really action packed and very hard with great scripting and TONS of units to fight.
Its also a blast with different tagsets like WWII and SF2 as well as tagsets that we made with it in mind.
Anyone know this?

Hey VR this is the only place that has it.
http://www.myth4thewindage.com/download-maps
Its really sweet and when you use it choose the top versions of the solo levels, those are the CBI myth 2 maps.
Try it with the our farewell b39 tagset turned on and its a pretty good match. (learning curve required) o BTW we are on our farewell tagset b46 now and before its public again it will be at b48 or b49 just to give people an idea of how much ALL new stuff was added to it since b39.
Keep in mind we just use the tagset for TESTING new units' abbillitys, weapons and magic and isnt represenitive of the amount of each of the types of units you will get in our campain.
Anyway they work very well together so enjoy!

Thanks Ren! I'll check it out. (I love finding out about Maps I've never heard of before)
I'll add an entry for the CBI map(s) on mything.org, do you mind if I list your site as a place the map can be downloaded from? If not, no biggie.
thanks again

Sure VR go ahead.
Also dont forget to ask if anybody knows who made it on your posting of it.
It is a mystery who made this and its awesome!
Try SF2 and Gate of storms. you can even call in a ton of ammo drops in the town square and lay mines and kill shiver if done exactly correctly (i havent yet but allmost!) you have to see her exact path she takes and you can tell exactly where to place the land mines so others around her dont set them off before she goes over them.

Ren, I like the coops - but the duplicate names of the Bungie and CBI levels was annoying me, so I dissassembled the plugin, added unique level names (ex. 'CBI Willow Creek', 'CBI Gonen's Bridge', etc) and rebuilt the plugin.
To distinguish it from the original CBI.beta I named it 'CBI.beta.001', feel free to use it if you want, you can dl it
here. (dl link at bottom of page)
thanks again for posting the file for dl!
Well i dont belive this would require a NEW version

Well i dont belive this would require a NEW version of CBI.
Its very simple, the TOP or higher name of the map is the CBI versions, so allways choose the name of the map thats on top.
I really think it would be a good idea NOT to have 2 version of this plugin floating around, since the change is super minor and will make them imcompatible with one another.
Please remove this new version, only if more levels were added or realr bugfixes were done should there be another version of this plugin since its been out for years and MANY have the original beta of it.
thanks for your understanding VR. If you want to create a new version of it, then lets work together and add more levels from sb OR EVEN TFL LEVELS with CBI style scripting (large amounts of enemies with good scripting) then make a new release worthy of a new version.

No it doesn't _require_ a new version, but the duplicate names were annoying me.

If there were lots of people with this plugin that might be an issue, but is it really an issue given that your site is the only place that even hosted the map?

1. No.
2. Although you were the source of the map - which I do appreciate - I don't feel that you in any way are the keeper of the map or have any inbred right to determine what happens to it beyond whether or not you decide to make the map available for download on your site.
3. I consider this version an extremely minor though legitimate bugfix. (I am sure you wouldn't try to argue that the mapmakers INTENDED to have duplicate level names)

I am sorry don't understand your sense of ownership of this map set at all. As for my making a very minor bugfix available, I think it would be much more improper to (as you suggest) add more levels and release a new greatly expanded/modified version of CBI without the author's approval.
People are free to download the version from your website, and I am not going to be advertising the modified version or competing with the original beta version, I mistakenly thought you might agree that having level names that accurately described the levels was a useful fix. Obviously, I underestimated your fondness for redundancy.
No harm no foul. Sorry if my fixing the level names is a major irritant to you. It wasn't done to annoy you, and I am not keeping the version available on my site to annoy you, I am keeping it available because I believe it's a more useful and user friendly map set with the names fixed.

If its going to require 2 sperate versions it shouldnt be done as i have stated. it would have to require a new version, as ANY changes to a plugin require a new version i belive. IF this isnt they case no biggie but if it will put 2 versions of this plugin out there that arent compatible with each other, then i would tell you its a VERY bad idea to have 2 versions for such a minor change that ONLY bugs you in the first place. Lots of people have this plugin so wether or not it was "Just" on our site or not, should make no diffrence. people have been downloading CBI from around 5-7 years and just look up "our farewell b24" on the tain. its got allmost 300 DL's and we allways get people to DL CBI when they get a any version of our tagset.
so at least around 2,000 people or so have CBI to give you an idea of just how many would need to DL a new version just because the duplicate names bugged you. one thing is for sure you have no right to rerelease a different version IF it will not be compatible with the old one, just based on personal perferrence for a menu display.

Its a really bad idea to release this new version vinyl, i know why you made it, but the fact is that people have already been playing the plugin for a long time, so all this is going to do is make people who have the REAL version go "what the fuck?" when some dude hosts '001'.
Ive gone to marius and found giant games of CBI happening without me or ren even trying to get people to play it- so its popularity is well-known outside the TWA team.
Unless you wanna do some real fixes that warrant a new change, and warrant forcing people to download some new version, this one will only really serve to fix a minor annoyance for one guy, and CREATE major annoyances for everyone who wants to get a game of CBI going by having almost exactly identical versions.
Basically- the changes made do not warrant a new version. The negatives of doing this greatly outweigh the positives.

ok. I don't happen to agree with you since I am not imagining anyone is going to be downloading the .001 version, and I am not trying to make the .001 version a replacement for the existing version - (note I said "use it if youwant to") but since internet searches won't return the page on my site with the CBI.beta.001 I'll just call it a private version. ok?
Think of my downloads folder on mything.org similar to you all's upload folders on udogs. Lots of different versions of the same plugs each incompatible with all the others, sometimes there's 10 versions of the same map/plugin but no one kicks and screams about it.
So for the record, CBI.beta.001 I modified for my own use.

you are about the most hypocritical person I have met Ren. First you tell me if I want to release a new version of CBI.beta I should work with you and add new levels and content and scripting (without the author's permission) THEN you tell me I have no "right" to release a new version? Just because YOU don't agree with my reason for doing so? Excuse me for asking, but who died and made you arbiter of MY rights? Or what is appropriate in the Myth World? Oh wait, that's right, you are obviously an authority since you stole the copyrighted/trademarked intellectual brand of "Myth" for the name of your campaign you obviously have the moral high ground to tell ME what's right and what's wrong?
Bull f-ing shite.
I have just as much "right" to release a modified plugin or map without the original author's permission as you or anyone else does. e.g. None.
But as I said to ooga, who while I don't necessarily agree with can at least present his argument in a logical non-condescending way, please consider .001 a PRIVATE version for my own use. I am sorry I offered to share it with you, I hereby rescind that offer, I do NOT give you permission to use the plugin. Please delete all copies of the map from your hard drive or face the wrath of my crack legal team.
Feel better now?
ps. Go to hell. I will modify whatever the hell I want, whenever I want. In fact I am eagerly anticipating the release of your campaign becausae I am going to release my own version called "Mythed IV: The Wind Age" which will have all units replaced by farting ducks.

fwiw, I believe CBI was made by a TFLer called Rubba who, while not being part of Magma, was one of our best testers back in the 1.4 days.
I'm also getting heartily sick of the toxic rants going on here lately. Ren, if (as ooga implies) your rants are only "half serious" and you derive amusement from people's responses, well that strikes me as trollish behaviour. You're welcome to post here and promote your plugin, but huge diatribes against other people are not welcome. If you must do that, your own forums are a better place for it.
To everyone who responds to Ren's rants, please don't. Post about something else ... about the plugins you're working on, or about your experiences with the 1.7 beta. Thanks.

Iron be fair. i never start this bs and other people jump on the hate ren bandwagon. you should read me first post and see that i never go around picking fights here. i just dont take any BS from people and thus respond is self defence. In short if people dont want me to respond to their bullshit with more bullshit maybe they should chill the hell out and not be dicks.
I dont go around and be mean to people and say shit against them,
and even when im not even posting (i didnt for MONTHS) i still see CERTAIN people talking shit in not to sutble ways about me whenever they get a chance.
You must be able to see its not just 1 way and not my fault alone.
And what does this have to do with the CBI thread anyways iron?
"Ren's rants" wtf iron you must be blind if you cant see whats going on.
(Be mean to people and they will fight back)

Wow.. way to take what i said which was a positive and somehow completely twist it around 180 degrees.
I did not say, nor imply, that he "derives amusement from people's responses". Thats 100% fabrication.
That aside, I think its safe to assume nobody is being amused by the threads except cynical assholes (not directed towards anyone in particular).
