worth getting back into myth?

It's been a few years since I really played...actually more like 2001. I've lurked a bit since then but the rust got pretty thick and I kinda gave up. Most of you've probably never heard of me, or don't remember me (see forum username). I wasn't too memorable anyway. Myth is slowly fading into oblivion but it hasn't died yet. I don't really have much time and it'd take awhile to get up to speed. Is it worth taking the time to get back into myth at this point? Are ppl newb friendly enough to rdm with someone rusty? Is the game any fun anymore (how long do you wait for a game)? Have strats / gameplay changed a lot recently?

Some things haven't changed. I would say it is worth it. Many old players return from time to time, you wouldn't be the first. There are some people that might take some games too seriously, but there are plenty of friendly people willing to play with others. The usual peak of players is about 50 during the late hours of Mnet's ".time". Mnet uses the Central Time Zone when you type".time" and hit enter (without quotations). Although now that the Myth World Cup is getting ready to start, more people have shown up and for longer time. So now the peak is about 70.

Is it "worth" the time to get back into Myth?
Depends on how much fun you remember having playing Myth. The game is as fun as ever, people are the same as ever. Some are friendly, some are not - if you get in a game indentify yourself as being rusty upfront. If people start swearing at you and calling you names, that's a good clue they might not be newb friendly. Plenty of newbie friendly people playing and hosting, just look around. btw, on the plus side of the community being small - you don't have to practice much to be one of the top 4-500 players online!
ps. Welcome back!

kewl, hope to see you online.
fyi: With the Myth World Cup starting up and all, the community is definitely larger, but there may be a slightly higher ratio of unfriendly-to-newbie player to friendly player for the next month or so. Not pointing any fingers, just wanted to make sure you didn't judge the friendliness of the community by the MWC crowd.

btw, I was playing the Freedom II solo campaign last weekend - wow! LOTS of fun! I really enjoyed it up until the last 2 levels that were so insanely difficult I ended up giving up on after a couple of hours of each wasn't getting me very far. BUt REALLY nice work, that campaign is a lot of fun!
