Vista and TFL problems.

Hey!
After long years of hibernation, i desided to install TFL and Myth 2 once again. My comp is a acer 5520G laptop with HD2400, 2GB, turion 64 TL-58 and Vista home premium

I read thru the other threads and found no help there so..

I had no problems with Myth 2 and it runs just fine. Problem is TFL.
My TFL CD is in so crappy condition that i couldnt install the game from it so i had to get the game from an old image. It installs the game with version 1.2 exe.

At the installation, i get this notification: http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/1232/installcz4.jpg
I get it from small and large installs and the installer stops at tcpip.dll as can be seen. The installer closes and i patch to version 1.5.

I actually got it to work ONCE with small installation. I loaded up the first level and it worked just fine. I quit the game and did some other things and tried the game again, and it just crashes. I reinstalled the game every possible way but with no results. I tried large installation, small installation, with and without the patch, no help. I tried with compatibility mode with win 95 and 98/ME, with patch and without. no help.
I get it to run the first time, when it automatically runs the logo and intro but after that it just crashes.

Heres the logfile:

Closing Myth.

It would seem that it finds the files corrupt? I cant seem to move the tag-files either because it says the drive/files cannot be read(?). Im pretty sure the logfile is the same with large and small installations.

Any ideas?

Try this:

Inster the TFL CD, there should be a folder on there that is a large install, its called "Myth The Fallen Lords f" or something of the sort. When you open it you see it has the app and all the other stuff you need. Go ahead and copy that over to your drive. If that fails to copy, your disc is probably no good.

If that does work, DL the 1.5 update and install, etc. That should work fine then. If not, uh...hmm let us know.

OK an edit to the edit:

So i got the game working. I installed the game again and got the tag files from the bin file with iso buster, as daemon tools mounted the image wrong and i couldnt copy them from the "disk".

Now the game crashes when I finish Crows bridge and it wont even load the victory-screen.

edit 2: OK i ran the game in win 95 compatible mode and the next level works now. Untill next time :)

If you have issues again, you can always play The Fallen Levels plugin on Myth 2. Which is a port of the TFL solo maps into Myth 2. Play it with vTFL (TFL Gameplay) and it behaves similar to Myth TFL.

Actually i did run into problems :)

At Force Ten level (first with zerks), the game crashes when i engage ghouls with my zerks. It doesnt crash when attacking souls or thralls with a single zerk so its a bit strange. Thanks for the plugin tip! Will try that because it would be a bit hard to play without zerks :)

Eep. That sounds like corrupted files or something...

Yes it does. You could download artsound.gor
http://www.mariusnet.com/files/downloads.php?z=377
and replace the one in your tags folder and see whether the crashing issues continue.

Bit off topic, but...

Nice to see you back around these parts, Raven. :)
